“Put your bib back on, Stevie!”

Graeme McDowell, to Stevie Williams, caddie to Tiger Woods.

“Ok, so some of you know the back story and some of you don’t.
Tiger’s caddie, Stevie Williams, has this pompous  history of taking his caddie bib off when Tiger gets to the 18th green on the final day of a tournament he is about to win (or likely to win).  It’s a real bush league move that stems from Tiger’s camp not wanting any company logo other than ones that sponsor Tiger from showing up in key photos of Tiger celebrating a win as well as Steve has a deal with Valvoline where they have their logo on his sleeve and chest, but his chest gets covered while wearing the caddie bib.
Last Sunday at the Chevron World Challenge, Tiger was tied with Graeme McDowell on the 18th hole and hit an amazing shot to 3 feet.  G Mac then hits to 25 feet and as they walk to the green, NBC is back to their old ways talking about how Tiger is back, etc.  Steve takes his bib off when they get to the green.  The thinking is that G Mac will miss his putt and Tiger will make his 3 footer and win his own tournament by one.  As many of you know, G Mac drops his bomb forcing Tiger to make his 3 footer to force a playoff which he does.  What you don’t know is that when Tiger holed his putt, G Mac turned to Stevie and said, “Put your bib back on!”  He then proceeded to sink another bomb and win the playoff, capping an amazing year.
You think these other players are intimidated by Tiger anymore???”

With thanks to David Wood and Martin Vousden for the story.  Makes you want the Majors to start again right now doesn’t it?
