We’re giving away a GoKart electric trolley to the person who guesses the best player in the Ryder Cup.
To enter you need say which player will win the most points and how many points they’ll get. It’s one point for a win, half a point for a half and no points for a loss. This could get a little complicated because it’s likely more than one player will be most successful. So we’ve decided if that happens we’ll have to settle it with a count back. The player that cumulatively wins by the most holes in their winning matches will be declared the “best player”. If there’s still a tie, we’ll have to resort to chance, and pull someone out of the hat. The same hat we’ll use if we have more than one winner in our competition.
Here’s a list of the players:
Europe: Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia, Søren Hansen, Padraig Harrington, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Robert Karlsson, Graham McDowell, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood, Oliver Wilson.
USA: Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Ben Curtis, Boo Weekley, Chad Campbell, J B Holmes, Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker.
And here’s the leading points scorers in the past three Ryder Cups:
2006 – Sergio Garcia, played 5, 4 points. Lee Westwood, played 5, 4 points
2004 – Sergio Garcia, played 5, 4½ points. Lee Westwood, played 5, 4½ points
2002 – Monty, played 5, 4½ points. David Toms, played 5, 3½ points
There’s a maximum of 5 points that any player can win. You can pick a player from either side, but remember to say how many points you think they’ll win too. Post your entry in the comment box below. We’ll announce the winner during the week after the matches end. Only one entry per person please, and entries placed after the first matches start on Friday morning won’t be counted. Good luck!
