Price rise kicks in Monday 2nd March

Just a quick reminder that from Monday morning the price of the GoKart 18 hole set goes up to £219, and the 36 hole set £249. Yes I know we said the price rise was happening on 1st March but it’s Sunday today and we haven’t changed the prices yet..so there’s an extra day at the old price. So if you know anyone teetering on the edge of buying, give them a nudge and tell them to save themselves a few quid.

  1. Price rise in a credit crunch.I was hoping for a reduction as VAT came down .As the world teeters on the brink of a huge recession you increase you price !

  2. Michael,
It’s not always possible to control situations like this, but in any case, there’s never a good time for a price increase. We certainly wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t necessary; it doesn’t make selling any easier!
We’ve held our prices since launching in Jan 2007, in which time our costs have increased considerably. This is a re-adjustment to maintain the correct profitability to remain a viable company. We still believe the GoKart represents very good value for money at the new price.
Incidentally we did adjust our prices when the new VAT level was announced – we actually cut our prices a week ahead of the 1st December change (click here for more info)

  3. I have just recieved my April monthly Golf mag page 39 (just printed) which gives praise to your go-kart (New to me) with a price tag of £199 inc delivery.
I thought I would look you up with view to purchase but….
I was very disappointed when I go on your web site and find it has gone up by 10% minimum to £219+P&P.
Obviously the credit crunch has not arrived with your company yet!!!

  4. In a recession only overpriced, or inferior items become cheaper.
Products that are of high quality, which are robust and reasonably priced are unaffected.
May I suggest looking on Ebay if price is your prime concern?

  5. Bob,
We haven’t seen the current issue of GM yet, but we’re really sorry you were misled by what they’ve printed. We certainly do everything we can to keep the golf media up to date with current prices, but it still occasionally happens that old information gets published. The price of £199 is very out of date now – over four months.
Regarding the price increase; we certainly wouldn’t put prices up unless it was necessary. Businesses have to maintain correct profitability – at all times, including recessions.

  6. Merv. Have you seen the used trolleys for only £140 plus postage. What a bargain. They are excellent. I am not sure still how mine could have been classed as “Used”, it looks new.

I think we all know we are in a recession but the only businesses which will survive are the ones who watch their costs and make changes. These are still an excellent buy, worth well over £250 compared to the competitors. You would Not get customer service like this from anywhere else. An Excellent Trolley from a good price. What more can you say.

  7. Phil, my comments were directed at Michael (1st comment on this blog) – I too have one of these wonderful trollies, and have also experienced the excellent customer service too (2nd to none!).
In a world where boils down to backup and product quality, GoKart is head an shoulders above its competitiors. (I paid £199 for mine with one years warranty, and very happy to do so too – it is well worth every penny.

    Happy hacking….

  8. How irritating it is to go onto a website and find the price has increased within the last couple of days! When you increase the price, whatever the reason, why not remove all the previous information of price or imminent price rises. On entering the site on 5th March I do not want to know that the price increased on 2nd March!! Keep your website up to date.

  9. Gill,
Point taken; we did leave this post in the “Latest News” section on our home page a few days past the price change. It wasn’t that we were being sloppy on keeping up to date though; it’s always a difficult period when there’s a transition of this sort. Some customers would come back to the site expecting the old price, and would need explanation of the difference. Your comment illustrates it wasn’t possible for us to get it right for everyone, but apologies all the same.

  10. I didn’t know the price has gone up before I bought one this weekend, and in my opinion, its still an amazing price for what you’re getting. However, now I know that it was 199 INCLUDING postage previously, the 219 + 15 P&P is a bit more irksome. It’d been nice to have had the case thrown in as it was before xmas (again something I’ve only just found out !!) – just to soften the blow…

Hopefully it’ll get despatched today though…

  11. Thanks for the new front wheel arrangement it works a treat and the cost was great. thanks for a wonderful service.
Will purchase the new treaded wheels for next winter as the 36 hole battery was starting to lag comming up the last due to the amout of water that we have been splashing through, so the new wheels will fix that for next winter.
Was the first one at the club with my GoKart and now there are three, wonder if they will keep breeding.
