No VAT increase on GoKart electric golf trolleys

For two months anyway. We’re keeping old misery guts Osborne at bay and will absorb the extra 2½% on VAT until the 1st March 2011. That’s the good news…

… the bad news is that as well as the extra VAT, we’ve a price rise due in March too. We thought you’d appreciate a bit of advance warning if you’re considering buying a GoKart electric golf trolley. On the first of March we’ll be increasing the price to £244 plus post and packing (£15 for mainland UK).  In the meantime, as well as delaying the VAT rise, we’ll hold our current price of £224.

Lots of factors have forced our hand; rising material costs, labour, utilities. Moving production to China would be a solution, but we simply don’t want to. We’d rather keep making the trolley in our own factory here in the UK, and give you a product we’re proud of. Even at the slightly higher price, the GoKart represents fantastic value for money, we’re confident of that.

The bundle deal will continue, so if there are a couple of accessories you want to order with the trolley, you’ll still get the £20 discount.

  1. Good for you – especially keeping manufacturing in this country. I can appreciate the pressures to off-shore it but the extra costs of the added logistics, the vagaries of currency exchange rates and the loss of control over quality and delivery are all in support of local manufacture.
As a recent purchaser of a GoKart I would add that it is an excellent product. My only slight grumbles are that I have not yet fully mastered fitting the battery to the cart, but I’m sure that will come with practice, and a charger on which the red light refuses to shine.

  2. Congratulations on resisting the Leeming like headlong charge of British manufacturers to go to China to reduce costs. Even with the increased price the Gokart is still a good bet but I am sure you will be constantly striving to reduce cost through improved design and process which if more companies had done we would not be suffering the murder of our manufacturing and engineering that we have seen over the last 20 years.
ps I have not been paid to say this!

  3. Knowing that there are few less people being put out of a job is worth that little extra. It seems so easy for politicians to say “we must all take a bit of pain” when they seem to be sitting comfortably with well paid jobs and expenses. I hope business expands and you can take on a few extra people. Your product deserves it.

  4. dear sir,

i am interested in purchasing a go-kart trolley with a 18 hole battery an brolly holder, can you confirm the total cost please,

    regards

    brian thomson

  5. Hi Brian,
The price would be £244 for the trolley, battery and charger, the brolly holder is £19 and delivery would cost £15, giving you a total of £278. If you added one extra accessory you’d qualify for our ‘bundle’ scheme (£20 discount), so worth doing a bit more window shopping maybe?
