Let’s talk Hedgehogs!

Autumn is here (and just to be contrary, we’re looking out of the window at brilliant sunshine and a temperature close to 27 degrees…British weather is certainly interesting…) No matter how much we want to hang on to the last vestiges of summer, we know that inevitably we have squishy fairways and waterproofs ahead of us.

But the good news; more and more courses are allowing electric trolleys throughout the winter as long as they’re equipped with winter wheels. Trolley bans are becoming more of a rarity, thank goodness. We’ve tested the hedgehogs on GoKarts for a long while now, and it’s very apparent to us that they really do reduce turf damage.  The test here is interesting too; hedgehog test  and might help to persuade your club if they’re still in a quandary.

Hedgehogs are available on the GoKart webshop for £61 plus p&p (ROI €74).  This is a set for all three wheels; the drive wheels and the small front wheel.

Could be the end of a spiky problem!

  1. Way too expensive considering my pro shop can fit a set for £24 with no requirement for the front wheel to be done. Saying that the GoKart hedgehogs do look good.

  2. That being said Kevin, i bought a set from my club last year as they decided all electric carts must be fitted with them for the winter. Cost me £28, complete rubbish, i had to screw them on to my lovely Go Kart wheels & before you knew it bits were falling off. I wish i had bought Go Kart originals from the off and i shall be soon.

  3. Kevin… you get what you pay for! My hedgehogs arrived on wed and I couldnt wait to get out on the course. I didnt have a mallet with which to knock out the front wheel pin but my kitchen roll holder stood in and if you turn it round you cant see the dents…..

WIth my red battery and matching golf bag, brolley, skip cap, jumper, waterproof jacket and pencil (so I like red) we set off at 9.07. It was wet and muddy underfoot but the hedgehogs navigated across the course without any problem and even allowed my trolley to pitch on some difficult and steep slopes where for some odd reason my ball kept landing……

Several times i was reminded to keep up as I gazed wistfully at my stunning red trolley that now looks like an all terrain vehicle with a starsky and hutch red and white stripe.

I am confident that the hedgehogs will coast through the winter league until they are ready to go back into hibernation in March. I am also looking forward to welcome my new automatic handle and 2 year warranty.

What will you guys think of next? Actually a card holder that really does keep the card dry would be very useful the wet west of scotland.

    Cheers

  4. Golf rules quiz. Your ball is buried in leaves in a bunker but you are not allowed to move leaves in a bunker so what do you do to stay legal?

    PS I don’t know either
