Knobbly wheels we were talking about…

With these current slip-slidy conditions a lot of customers have been asking about the textured wheels we’ve been planning. We were hoping that they would have been ready by now but the likelihood is that we’re looking at another four soggy weeks. But, to whet your appetite (sorry) here’s a pic to prove that we’re not fibbing.

They’re performing extremely well in testing (important), seem to be rather kind to the golf course (very important) and look rather dashing (less important but still very important). More news when they’re ready to send out.

The ones in the pic are black, which is a special order for James Bond (”Parsh me my wedge Mish Moneypenny”) (yes ok that is a fib, but Daniel Craig is a GoKarteer). The production version for us normal mortals will be a light grey same as the current wheel.

  1. I would really love to have these new ‘grippy-zippy’ wheels. Weather’s not been too kind this year and as I usually go where no other golfer’s gone before, these new wheels will help me find my ball with a wee bit more dignity!!!!!! Bring it on!

  2. I can’t wait for these after my last round of slipping up “cardiac hill” on my local course.
Of course it will make doughnutting and powersliding harder! ha ha!

  3. Dear Mr Griffiths,
We will have a GoKart golf bag quite soon, but not in time for Christmas unfortunately. We don’t have a date at the moment, but we’ll keep you posted on availability. When’s your birthday?

  4. Its great to see that the “Knobbly Wheels” are near to being available, but once again what is happening to the “Brolly Holder”, I would have thought that this would have taken priority, considering the amount of requests by GoKart owners. Can you give any indication as to when it will be available.
    Regards
    Bob

  5. Bob,
The brolly holder is a priority and we’re really sorry it’s so overdue. Development took much longer than we predicted though. The tooling is nearing completion now, so we are getting there. We can’t put a date on it’s release yet, as there may still be some unknown unknowns! You’ll be the first to know when it’s finished.

  6. Can’t wait for them to be ready. My trolley is slipping around more than an ice racer.
Nice photo with the portaloo as well. You must be wetting yourself with excitement, lol.

  7. Oooooo, they look good ! Nice to know the brolly holder is almost there.

Presumably the re-designed front wheel is at the same stage ? I went round at the weekend and my front wheel was hardly turning. Just praying I don’t run over a mystery doggy doo doo otherwise it will be a messy clean-up job !

Also good to hear the golf bag news. Presumably, it’d be waterproof and with 14 dividers – couldn’t stand anything less as you always end up trying to ram the irons back in the bag !

Keep up the good work chaps. Peace and love from Disco.

  8. You have two very satisfied customers in this family, may soon have a third.
Give me a nod when the brolly holders are ready.

Will give you a call Sandy re. third customer.

  9. Ooooh I just can’t wait! We have an astro-turf footpath from tee to green on the 3rd at Ramsey (IOM) and I slide around like b*ggery at the mo’…..hopefully these new ‘treads man’ will stop folks giggling at me…

  10. Having recently bought a GoKart I am looking forward to the new wheels as our course, Dewsbury District in Yorkshire is very hilly. I am unable to carry due to artheritis in my back and the kart has been slipping like made in the frosty conditions. Is there any news of a brolly holder, again I am unable to wrestle with one any more. Our course is also prone to wind so if you need a test place we would be ideal.

  11. Can’t wait for the ‘nobblies’ to appear. I’m joining a new club after Christmas and they insist on the ‘little fellows’ helping the Kart around the course – I don’t think my handbag will hold all the irons and my putter…………………………..

  12. On another track completely. Watch out for the ‘now you see it, now you don’t ‘ black glove in the GOKart demonstration Vids! Sad I know but shows I pay attention!

  13. Looks good, but as this is coming from the Northern hemishere can I get mine with spikes for the ice.
    Thanks,
    Sandy.

  14. I noticed the Porta-loo in the background of one of the pictures, is that to underline the CONVENIENCE of the Knobbly Wheels, or are you just taking the MICK.
    Umbrella holder would be useful.
    Keep up the good work.

  15. I have fitted hedgehogs as I could not wait, they do not fit with thier own fixing clips on the gokart, I fitted them with cable ties and they tend to slip off the side of the wheel. They are fine this time of year, these knobbly ones will be better in the wet summer months.

  16. Got my early Christmas pressie from my Husband, a girlie Pink GoKart….
Then he nicked my ‘free’ carry case for his own GoKart…..Baa humbug !

  17. Nothing like a bit of naming and shaming…what do you bet he puts in an order for another transit bag in the morning!
