Gripping stuff

Here’s a sneak preview of a change we’re making to the GoKart wheels.

To make best use of our famous furiously frisky motor, we’ll be bringing out a grippier wheel to get that all that power transferred more efficiently. Needless to say, any existing owner suffering wheelspin problems will be able to get hold of a new pair of wheels free of charge. More news on availability soon.

Please note, there’s no need to tell us now if you’d like the new wheels. Please keep an eye on our newsletter; we’ll let you know as soon as we have them available.

  1. Totally agree with Adams comments of 20th August. Have often wondered if the trolley was strong enough to chauffeur me around the course….. not cause I’m lazy, but to see the look on peoples faces! I’ll look forward to your new “buggy board”.

  2. I would like these as i have experienced slide on grassy hills going 45 degrees. Ok going straight up.

  3. I have just bought a new go Kart and am so far very happy with it. I really could do with the new wheels as I am already slipping. Please put me down for the new wheels. I have also managed to break the front strap attachment which is used to hold the bag in place, don’t now how??? any chance of a replacement?

  4. yes please when available. You guys must win the best service award in british industry,if not you ought to. and got yet an other customer for you.

  5. Dear Go Kart,

The non slip wheels are a great idea as mine do slide in wet conditions and on sides of hills.

Add me to the list please.

  6. Great news about the wheels. Put me down for a set when they’re ready. Nice to see the Kart evolving. Darwin would be proud of you!

  7. Hi,

These wheels sound great for winter golf when the ground gets slippy, Please let me know when they are available.

    Joe

  8. At least the tread looks as if it will have a chance on wet grass and banks, good idea.

  9. Hi Gokart.

A top idea. Have encountered the wheel spin problem. Please let me know when available.
The GOKART looks to B gettin Better and Better.

  10. Yes I am interested – Excellent idea especially suited to this “dry” summer we are having!!

  11. Great news on the new wheels and front wheel attachment.I have had my GoKart for well over a year and these were two problem areas in the winter. Please register me for these when they are ready.
Some companies clai good customer relations bu you proove it.

    Thanks
    Gus.

  12. Robert the Bruce’s castle ( Lochmaben second hole) was no doubt a challenge to the knights and peasants charging up the motte, and slopping into the bailey. It certainly made me think of non-slip tread. However, I tried the friendly approach rather than the charge.
The GoKart has cooperated when given tlc and gentle encouragement, and now sails up quite politely, but the new tread looks admirable. Much better than the mere studs I thought of!

    Best wishes,
    Bill

  13. Great had a bit of wheel spin today but played 27 holes with
my 18 hole battery what a brilliant trolley it is.
PS How’s the brolley holder comeing along

  14. Hi there I sent you an e-mail regarding wheel spin last week. I wondered where I could get hedgehog wheels to fit my trolley. However these would seem to be the answer. Could I possibly have these type for my trolley, when they are available, and a pink badge. Thank you very much. You seem to be able to read my mind. Kerri

  15. These will be a great addition to an already excellent piece of equipment.
    Thanks, John.

  16. The new wheels look great, just the job to stop wheel spin
on our hilly back nine. Put me down for a set when they are available.
Go Kart & customer service first class.
    Many thanks, Peter.

  17. As the result of everything I have seen on this website which has impresses me I have just placed an order for a new go kart from this site as it is my first electric trolly so have no experience of the issues. Will some of these modifications come with the new cart or should I wait? I don’t mind being a guiniepig as my club is on the top side and bottom of a wet welsh mountain and I willl need the grip.
    Steve

  18. Steve,
Thanks for your order. These changes will be available as soon as we can get them ready. We’ll keep you up to date via our newsletter.

  19. Please put my name down for these when they become available. I, like others on this page, have already suffered much wheelspin due to the, ahem, “summer” conditions we are currently facing . . .

  20. After playing in a rather wet cornwall over the weekend we discussed about trying hedgehog wheels when a fellow gokart owner told us about the new wheels. hope the mud guard will be available soon.
    Great after sales as normal

  21. New wheels look great. Put me down for a set, my 9 hole course plays on a hill these should reduce wheels spin experienced as soon as any moisture is on the ground.

  22. Thanks, I see it is already in transit, that was quick! If only my game was as good.
    Steve

  23. Hi, can you tell me when gokart with the new grippier wheels will be available? And also tell me when the black battery will be available?. As soon as you’ll release this changes I’ll place the order straight away (to spain). I have a friend in Italy who’s got it and is very happy about it.
    Thanks
    Danilo

  24. Danilo,
We don’t have a date for availability of the revised wheels. Please signup for our newsletter and we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
The black battery is available now.

  25. Thank you for the warm reception I received when I purchased my Gokart on a visit to your premises recently. I would just like to say that ‘it does everything it says on the packet’ and more. So much so that a friend and golfing pal has also just purchased one as well.
Certainly arouses interest at the golf club.
Gripping wheels are a great idea, I too play the hilly courses on the south coast so please add me to your list for when they become available.
P.S. How about a braking system to stop kart rolling when stationary on ‘them there hills and slopes’.

  26. Ken,
A parking brake is certainly something we could consider for the future, but it’s not possible with the GoKart in it’s current form. Parking across the slope works OK though.

  27. Fantastic idea, splendid peace of kit, could you please email me when these are available, thanks.

  28. Hi Gang
The wheels look great should do the job nicely
I’d love to try them out if I’m eligible?
I’m sure my course will test them fully
(my current wheels are blue if it matters)
Keep up the great work it really is appreciated
    Kind Regards

  29. Hi,
My own course is very hilly so i would very much like the new wheels when available
    Thanks.
    Kevin

  30. Hi
I used the GoKart for the first time last weekend and experienced wheelspin due to a conbination of wet conditions and hilly course – which is the norm for the golf courses in my area. A set of gripper wheels would go a long way to resolve the problem. I’d be delighted to accept a set of the new wheels when available.
That said the conbination of GoKart’s powerful motor and light weight frame makes it a pleaseure to use.

  31. Hi I love my Kart and a set of gripper wheels will imrove it a lot on my course which is very steep in places.

  32. Hi my Gokart is fantastic and a set of gripper wheels would certainly help the wheel spin problems on my course which is very steep in places and wet in winter periods. Thank you for all your support at gokart .Peter

  33. Hi, Great news about the new front wheels. I cant wait for all that extra grip and have some good steep hills to test them on!

  34. HEY GUYS AND GALS IVE JUST READ ANOTHER BLOG ABOUT THE NEW WHEELS FANTASTIC JUST WHAT I NEED FOR OUR HILLY COURSE. PLEASE SEND ME A SET ASAP, WELL DONE AND THANKS FOR LISTENING
    DIGBY

  35. As I have said B4, my course here in the Lakes in quite hilly. The Go-Kart takes everything in its stride. BUT these new wheels look GR8 so put me down 4 a set please. AND ALSO the new front bit to help with the unclogging of grass [dam nuisance in the wet].

  36. Great news about the new wheels . I have experienced wheel spin on the steeper parts of our course but put it down to my Gokart still sporting ‘L’ plates – took delivery end of June – and sometimes still use pull trolley when only doing 10 holes! So would love to receive replacement wheels before winter conditions set in (or is ours the only course this summer where they never truly went away! )

  37. Nigel,
Not if your club specifically requires hedgehogs. The studs on these keep the wheels lifted off the ground. Our new wheels won’t do this. You can fit hedgehogs to the GoKart wheels though

  38. WOW! Ordered my GoKArt on Wednesday evening, received it Friday and took it out Saturday and Sunday. Awesome Response times.
I made the mistake of buying a remote controlled trolley on ebay last year and it was a nightmare. I had to read the breaks on the fairway for it to keep remotely straight with constant manipulation. I managed to sell it back on ebay (at a profit!!) so that ended well.
After carrying for a year I got the GoKart wondering if an electric trolley was for me (the superb 28 day return offer helped me decide). I do not believe I have been happier with a purchase. This is an amazing trolley and so so poweful. I need a quick jog to keep up with it at full steam. Thank you Go Kart, NO way I will ever think of sending it back.
Wheelspin – I do get wheel spin but that’s usually when I send it away too fast and desperately hang on to the end to save me running after it. the spinning wheels allow me to keep it near me as I manage to slow it down. With very grippy wheels I would be worried about being taken along!!
The new ones do look good however and would like to try them on.

  39. The new wheels are just what i need. I would like a set when available. As I golf all winter, the new grippers are the answer to my praryers.no more spinning on the frosty grass.

  40. Please do put me down for the grippier wheels and the non-clogging front wheel fitting- these are really useful developments to what is already a great bit of kit. many thanks,

  41. Hi Gokart
I seem to have gone missing from your Blog.
I wrote and asked to be counted in for the new Wheels which seem like an exellent idea and also mentioned that the score card cover had suffered broken hinges and become detached. You printed this at first with the following words attached. “Your comment is awaiting moderation”. Please could you explain what this means and why I have been deleted. I hope it wasnt for the mild criticism of your design.
I still think the Kart is Great.
    Puzzled Bill

  42. Received the replacement score card cover today 5/9/08.what great service only E-mailed you yesterday. I hope you can please me even more by explaining the meaning of ” your comment is awaiting moderation.”as shown on my previous message. Thanks again for your excellent service.

  43. Dear Puzzled Bill,
Apologies, but we don’t know what happened to your previous posting. It may have been deleted by mistake (our blog gets spam, similar to junk email and there’s always a risk of losing genuine messages by being a bit trigger happy with the delete key). Our policy is to publish all genuine comments unedited providing they contain nothing offensive (although we sometimes play around with the time stamp to ensure replies follow questions, like it does here!). We’re certainly not defensive about criticism, as I’m sure you can see from some of the comments already on our site.
When you make a comment, you see “awaiting moderation” to show the comment has been posted correctly. This isn’t the same as it being published. Only the person making the comment can see this message. If this person closes their browser and returns to the same page, their comment and the moderation message will have gone. 44. Another good bit of pro-active thinking by GoKart. Can’t wait till the wheels and the new wheel guard are available.
