500 holes in two days (daze?)

Huge well dones to two young GoKarteers, Ben Davis and Sean Linnie, from Ledbury who completed a gruelling 500 holes-in-two-days marathon in aid of Cancer Research.  Raising over £1,000 for the charity, over the last nine they even joined in with a club competition.  Pit changes for fresh batteries were timed to perfection (you’d never guess Ben’s family run a team of competitive GoKarts of the racing variety…) and the whole thing ran very smoothly. Which is more than the lads could manage the following day.

Here’s Sean and Ben on the final green (Ben on the right). They’re GoKarts aren’t visible because a) they’re standing on the green, b) they were too knackered to think about sensible promo shots for us, and c) the trolleys were off on their way to the first (again) tee for another hundred or so holes.

Kids these days?  …  They’re brilliant.

  1. Was that 500 holes between the two of them? In any case it was fantastic. Several golfers at our club completed 100 holes in a day recently and that took about 12 hours of actual playing time.

  2. Call me mad but I’m going to take a long shot (wild (mental even) punt) at Monty to win the Open on 280. Maybe someone can get me into my white coat!!!

  3. i know 500 is a lot of holes but come on aren’t these two just a little bit to young to be using electric trollies never mind the all powerful GOKART. Are they old enough to have a licence???

  4. Mike, go for a round at South Herefordshire Golf Club, and you’ll see why I use one! To be honest, without the GoKarts, I wouldn’t be able to do 3 rounds round there let alone 14 however fit I am (and obviously I am….very…..)!
