Tales of Paula the errant GoKart

(Names changed to protect the innocent)

“After almost 18 months “Paula” (well what else would you call something that runs and runs !) is behaving herself and is going really well and still attracts a lot of attention.

She has a bit of a charmed life as well, as one day earlier this year when arriving at the 8th green at Diss which is a bit of a “road hole” I pushed Paula towards the 9th tee box (you know how you do !) and actually forgot to switch off the power button. I turned round, walked to my ball on the green, waited for my partner to hole out, played my shot (putt), holed it and turned round to walk off the green to find Paula missing.

She had travelled past the 9th tee, through a shallow practice bunker, out the other side, down a small gully and up the other side, across a busy road and finished up halfway up the other bank. She fell over backwards and was busy digging herself in for the night with her new winter wheels (about 100 yards away) when I finally reached her, an amazing let off, totally undamaged apart from her pride, unlike the 4 car pile up a little way down the road.”
