Hi Tom,
There isn’t a brake on the GoKart. We find the best way to give more control on extreme slopes is to turn the trolley round, and with the power off, just walk down in front of it. This causes the motor to generate a braking effect and solves the problem quite neatly.

Bags don’t tend to twist on the GoKart at all. Once you put them in place they behave.

Dear David, Yes we do make a golf bag to match the trolley take a look here There will very soon be an orange and an all black bag available too. But you can in fact use any cart bag on the GoKart. Ours look very smart of course…

My wife and I are avid golfers,last week I played against a golfer whom had one of your gokarts,I was very impressed with the gokart and am thinking of buying maybe two 36 hole buggies,at the moment we have two powercaddy buggies with powercaddie bags,my question is ,do you sell special golf bags to fit your gokarts

let me just start by saying that website is not mine i ehhh, accidentally happened to come accross that looking for eemmmm wallpaper samples, yeh that sounds plausible..
i’ve had my trolley for a few years now, in fact i’m on to my second one now. traded original light grey one for the smoother, quieter black one. and let me just say how awesome it is
the only problem is, Iam really lazy. i mean why do i have to take my hands out of my pockets to use that wee scroller thingy on the handle, what I’m gettin at is :- do you have any plans in the future to bring out a remote version of the already great GOKART.

Are you planning any “Winter Wheels”? I have currently screwed Hedgehogs to my main wheels, and have had no complaints yet.
No Trolley Notice From Lingfield Park Golf Club.
To keep the Golf Course in as good condition as possible all notices that are posted have long term implications.
The `No Trolley` notice is posted to protect all playing surfaces.
Hedgehog wheel covers can be used at all times on a standard pull trolley.
Powakaddy and other leading brand winter wheel can be fitted and used all year round.
To respect all members who abide by these rules; would all members please do the same.

You’re right, the GoKart doesn’t have a parking brake (we don’t know of an electric trolley that does). It really not a problem though; after a couple of rounds you’d find you were parking it across the slope without even realising it. The RC09 will fit the GoKart perfectly.

Fantastic website. Great reviews. I am seriously thinking of jumping on the Electric trolley bandwagon and i feel GoKart would be the best place to start. May be a dumb question…… there is no mention of brakes, so how does the cart stay parked on slopes?
I hope the Titleist RC09 cart bag fits in fine on this trolley.

No you don’t have to keep your hand on the controls at all once you’ve set the speed. You can just walk along beside or behind your GoKart and it’ll trundle along on its own. They’re very well trained you know.

Just wondering..
I assume that the little scrolling thing (ie. the throttle).. doesn’t have to be permantly held for the cart to cruise along? i ask because in all the vids, the chap has his had rested on it. i assume you can set the throttle an it will cruise along on its own (ie. without me having my finger on the scrollling wheel thing)

Hi Cliff – Yes we do have an umbrella holder (which is out of stock currently but we’ll email you when it’s available again) Other types of holders won’t fit, as they’re designed for the more usula tubular framed trolleys. If you look on the accessory page of the website http://www.gokart.co.uk/the-go-kart/accessories/ you’ll see a golf bag, a seat, transit bag, a brolly and soon there’ll be a drinks holder. Plenty to get shopping with!

Hi,
Bought trolley 2 or 3 years a go – still going fine. GoKart supplied an improved bracket for the bag to lift it further off the trolley, which worked ok, although it would be good if this could be heightened futher to make it easier to get clubs out – small point.
Main query is…umberella holders to fit trolley. Do you have your own bespoke model or will a universal holder fit?
Are there any other accessories I need to be aware of?

OK I entered your US Open Go-Kart competition. I predicted Tiger to win with 279. He finished in sixth place with 280. Was I near enough to win my trolley (or am I just off it)?

You don’t need the battery fitting kit. If you buy a GoKart, including battery and charger, you get everything you need (apart from golf clubs, golf bag, golf ball and good hand/eye coordination).
The fitting kit is there for people who already have a battery which they want to use with the GoKart.

We’ve googled “Ram cart bag” and they make quite a few different styles. We’ve tried bags of all makes and sizes with the GoKart and never found one that can’t be used. I’m sure your bag would fit, but remember if you decided to buy a GoKart, you’ve got a month to use it to make sure it’s what you want. If it’s not suitable for any reason, we’ll collect it and give you a full refund.

We have two batteries; an 18 and a 36 hole. The 18 hole battery is the one for most people. It has more than enough power for one round on any course.

Hi Colin,
GoKart was designed and is manufactured by us, in the the UK. All the individual components are made for us, to our design. We carry out all the assembly in our own factory in Canterbury.
The majority of the components are also made in the UK – this includes all the moulded frame, the internal drive parts, and electronic controller.
The main parts we have had to source outside the UK are the battery, charger and motor. These are made in China. The battery is a standard part, but the charger and motor are still made specially to our own specification. These types of product is no longer manufactured on any scale in the West, so we didn’t really have a choice.
The gearbox is incorporated into the body of the trolley – it’s not a separate unit. The internal drive components themselves are either moulded using engineering polymers or machined from stainless steel. All moving parts run in sealed steel bearings.

To be honest we haven’t tried the Motocaddy bag (we haven’t got one here at GKHQ) but at the next opportunity we promise to accost a Motocaddy bag owner, rip off his bag and scuttle off to our waiting GK to test it. This might of course get us arrested, but all in the name of science I suppose. But if you were to order a trolley, and your bag didn’t fit, we’d always collect it and give you a refund. or (if we may be so bold) you might want to swap your Motocaddy bag for a lovely GoKart one to enhance your lovely new trolley…

Hi Richard. The seat is for, well, sitting on. When the trolley is parked that is, not when you’re rolling along. It props on the wheel when you sit on it, and it’ll take quite a weight (up to around 20 stone).

Jim,
The standard battery has enough power for at least 27 holes. We can also supply a larger battery that’s guaranteed for 36 holes, but this one is nearly 3kg heavier, so we don’t recommend it unless you play 36 regularly.
The GoKart does come with a battery charger and delivery is next working day for orders received before 3pm.

Gerry, we’ve not had the pleasure of playing Maywood, but you can be sure that the GoKart would eat it for breakfast, and then be jumping up and down asking for more.
We’ve tested the trolley on the meanest, hilliest courses we could find and it can cope with everything we throw at it. If you and I can get up a hill (without pitons and ropes) then a GoKart will. Easily.
We have to disagree with the 33Ah battery information. Our batteries are either 18Ah (18 hole) or 24Ah (36 hole) and they’re ample.
Although we have a big beefy 230W motor, the way the gearing works in the GoKart is very efficient, with the result it’s not heavy on power use. All in all a neat system. Proof is when you take it out yourself, we think you’ll be impressed.

My course is quite hilly. In fact the first hole is quite steep. (upwards)
The figures you publish appear to be the same as other manufacturers. IE for level courses?
My question therefore is: How long will the battery last on a hilly course?
I have been told that a 24ah battery won’t last 18 holes on a hilly course and that I would need a 33ah battery minimum.
My course is Maywood in Risley, Derbyshire

Hi Tom,
You’d lift the seat out of its bracket for storage (takes a second) – the bracket stays permanently on the trolley.
We supply new batteries complete with a case. There may be occasions when your old battery might come in handy, maybe for the odd nine holes, and you wouldn’t want to be faffing around switching the covers over. The complete unit is still a very reasonable £41 plus £4 p&p

Does the new SEAT for the trolley have to be removed before folding

My trolley is now 2 years old(still very pleased with it), and it is time to replace a tired battery, do you supply replacement batteries without the fitting tray? If so what prices please?.

Hi Amrjit – if you play 36 that much you’d do better with the 36 hole battery (or 2 18 hole batteries and use them in rotation). The transit bag isn’t included in the set, it’s an extra £19.

If you look at this page on the website http://www.gokart.co.uk/the-go-kart/veni-vidi-vici/ you’ll see diagrams of the trolley folded and unfolded with all the measurements in mm. In inches the folded trolley is pretty much 12″ deep, 24″ wide and 24″ long.

Are there any plans for tyred wheels? The current ones are great in the main, but our course has lots of rocky paths, and the hard wheels are a bit unforgiving, and I’m afraid something is going to give in the main chassis…

You are right in that the battery doesn’t self discharge very quickly, but it’s bad to store a battery for any longer than necessary when it’s not fully charged. So we definitely don’t recommend using a 36 battery in the way you describe.
Regarding your second comment, it is true that the service life of a lead/acid battery is related to the number of charge/discharge cycles, but it’s not the only factor, and the damage caused by storing it partially charged would easily offset any benefit by lowering the number of re-charges.

If I have a 36 hole battery with only one charger, and your fully charged battery is good off charge for some weeks, could I say play 18 holes and leave the battery off charge and then play a further 18 holes a week or so later without problem?
The reason for this question is that an engineering friend of mine who ran a battery manufacturing business some years ago said that a battery life is generally reckoned on the number of cycles it does and if
you only charge a 36 hole battery every 36 holes played, it will last twice as long as charging after every 118 holes

Just to let you know my golf has improved and I’m sure the new GoKart trolley helped me achieve a more relaxed and a better focus on the game – psychology does work!
I’m still handing out the batch of postcards you sent me and members at my club continue to be impressed. At the moment I’m quite enjoying being the only one at my club with a GoKart trolley. However, I’m sure there will be others joining soon.
All I need now is one of your bags – I’m working on it and hopefully I’ll be able to make some headway soon.
Just one thing you can help me with. I’ve been anxiously waiting to see If I might have been lucky with the Easter draw you advertised when I bought my trolley. Any news yet?

Lithium batteries. Hmmmm. They’re nice but very expensive. Effectively it would double the price of the trolley. The way it stands now we actively use the battery as part of the frame, locking it and adding stability. And with the carrying handle it’s easy to grab, not heavy to lift and generally pretty easy. Would an extra couple of hundred pounds be worth it?

A battery fitting kit is only necessary if you want to use a battery you already have on the GoKart. Lots of batteries will fit; let us know if you have a stack nestling in the corner of your garage and we’ll say whether they’re compatible. The ‘fitting kit’ is the cover that the bare battery sits in to clip it onto the GoKart.
If you’re thinking of buying the set – GoKart, battery (in cover) and charger – you won’t need a battery fitting kit.

Glad you’re enjoy using the GK! You’re doing exactly the right thing by re-charging after every use. What batteries hate more than anything else in the world (even more than witnessing their owners four putt) is being left in a state of partial charge for longer than necessary. The moral of the story; always charge sharpish even after just a bit of use.

We accept that the gear resistance mentioned isn’t a replacement for a parking brake, but you can feel the difference in drag between forward and backward motion by turning one of the drive wheels manually; moving in reverse turns the gears and motor, moving forward just turns the wheel and is much freer.

Thank you for your resposne “195″ which advises that for the backwards direction the gearing creates some resistance to free movement, so should hold it steady on slopes up to a point. The probem I have is that there is no gearing resistance at all backwards and the trolley simply free wheels back on anything other than completely flat.

We have gone to great lengths to ensure the GoKart is very free running – in the forwards direction. All moving parts in the drive train run in precision sealed bearings, and our patented drive system includes a very efficient free-wheel feature. However, in the other direction (pulling it backwards), the gearing creates some resistance to free movement, so should hold it steady on slopes up to a point. Beyond this, the GoKart will need to be parked across the slope. Hopefully this won’t prove to be too much of a problem, but we’ve noted your comment for consideration in future product development.

Using my new Go-Kart the only thing I’ve noticed (frustratingly) is when stopping or parking even on the very slightest of inclines the trolley will run back (and/or forward) meaning it has to be parked always at 90 degrees on slight gradients. Conversely my playing partners using trolleys from different manufacturers all appear to hold in position on reasonable slopes.
Just checking that it is normal/designed that the Go-Kart always needs need to be stopped/parked at right angles on even the slightest inclines.

Happy to clarify. There are occasional offers but in general terms;
New trolleys; these are all completely up to current specification; with the new treaded wheels and lower bag rest. No need to buy any extra wheels unless you’re particularly taken with them. Incidentally they smell really nice, sort of marzipan type smell. Strange but true. So the basic package contains, trolley, battery and charger (no transit bag).
And used trolleys are also up to current spec with the treaded wheels and new lower bag rest. Same contents; trolley, battery and charger but no transit bag.

The GoKart doesn’t like going backwards. It can be pulled backwards for short distances when manoeuvring (round tee boxes/opponents trolleys/dead squirrels etc) but it’s not designed to go backwards for more than this.

If it’s designed as a cart bag it’ll fit. Lots of non cart bags fit very nicely as well. If it’s ever a case that a customer orders a GoKart and it’s not 100% satisfactory in terms of being able to get to their balls (or whatever else they need to get hold of), we’d refund them.

Yes, it is possible, or at least it will be very shortly. Off the shelf ones won’t fit as they’re all designed for tubular frames (which ours most certainly isn’t). So we’ve designed our own bracket which will be ready very very shortly. Watch the site over the next couple of days and you’ll see it’s available…£23 inc. postage and packing. And very nifty it is too! The sort of thing M would have tucked away for Mr. Bond. Probably would fit on an Aston Martin somewhere.

Although you’d have to buy them separately, you can fit Hedgehog wheel covers to the GoKart wheels. Hedgehog specify them for use on pull trolleys only, but we’ve tested them extensively on our trolley, and are happy to recommended them to our owners. Alot of courses during the winter months (most of the year) don’t like trolleys on the course usless they have hedgehog wheel covers. Is this something your are looking into for the gp-karts?

It certainly wouldn’t affect your warranty to fit a bike water bottle to the GoKart. The frame is very different to the Hill Billy, so you might need to drill a hole to attach it. Incidentally, we’ll be adding a bottle holder to the list of GoKart accessories in the next couple of months.

I run a very old hillbilly which will soon be replaced. I use a bike waterbottle in a cycle mount screwed to the metal frame. Can I do the same thing a a gokart and willit affect the warranty.

that Yuasa battery wll fit perfectly, you’ll just need one of our battery fitting kits (the plastic case the battery sits in that locates onto the trolley). You have a choice as to whether you buy the two trolleys complete with batteries and have your Yuasa as a spare, or buy one of the GoKarts without battery and charger. Answers first – we haven’t measured the top speed but you’d have to jog to keep up with it. It’ll easily romp up any hill you or I can get up, and the motor is a beefy 230W.
Power isn’t an issue! We designed it so that it would always have plenty of ooomph in reserve, and never have to be working flat out.
We’re confident it’ll compare very, very favourably.

My existing trolley is an Auriol Power Drive which is, sadly, about to die on me. It would leave me for dead when set off on it’s own if given full power – I.ve had to run after it before now – and never had a problem with any gradient. The battery is some seven years old and still working fine whereas most batteries, (it would appear), last about a twelve month. The longevity of mine, I believe, is due to the fact it is rarely used at full capacity so my questions are :- What is the maximum speed of the Go Kart. what gradients will it climb and what is the power output.

There are advantages with our direct to the public only policy, but this is the main disadvantage. Please note though, that we give a 28 day money back guarantee. I would like to pass on some great news!
I have an 18 hole battery and decided to see how long it would last without charging it.
Needless to say I should never have doubted the quality of Gokart and it’s accessories.
Friday, 19th Dec 08 – Played 18 holes with a fully charged battery.
Saturday, 20th Dec 08 – Played 18 holes without charging the battery.
Sunday, 21st Dec 08 – Played 18 holes without charging the battery.
Sunday evening decided to charge the battery as I did not want to push my luck too far.
Consensus – 18 hole battery lasts for 54 holes and maybe more and this is not on a flat course.
Congratulations on a great product and I have peace of mind to be able to play 36 holes if I forget to charge my battery (which I have done in the past).

With regards to a lot of people commenting on the clogging on the front wheel… Guys, it’s simple, all you do is stop your cart and pull it backwards an inch or so. Then all the muck and leaves are deposited in a tidy wee heap. U can then motor on til your hearts content, u don’t actually have to start prodding at the front wheel so theres no point making a drama out of a very manageable problem!!!

I am gutted – my club has put a blanket ban on Electric Trolleys until March 2009. I asked the Pro, he said the likes of Powakaddies are too heavy – he even said the Gokart would be fine, but they can’t have one rule for one etc etc – they also say Hedgehog wheels do not work!!

The switch on the GoKart is different to the ‘bloody Hilly Billy’ (sic). It is a marvelous switch, a wonderous speed controlling device with almost divine, trolley speed controlling power. The plastic is more prosaic unfortunately – it’s just Tough, with a capital Ta.

Well before we start talking about golf bags we’ll just say how much we admired the Babyshambles stuff.
The good news is there will be a GoKart trolley bag if you can hang on til Christmas or just after, and very smart it’ll be too. But if you really can’t control yourself you’reokay with pretty much any cart bag that takes your fancy. We rather like the Gogolf ones, as they come in lots of wonderful colours (www.goclassicgolf.com) but the Ogio bags look very good too. All the GoKarts we make at the moment have the darker frame; it’s very very very dark grey (I call it black…) When we launched, for the first year or so all the trolleys made were light grey and green. The website does have a smattering of old photographs on it.
If you were to order one now it’d be black and either blue, red, pink or green. You can also have a black battery cover if you’d rather.
We’ll try to keep to our prompt delivery schedules before Christmas, but if last year is anything to go by it gets blooming busy. If you can, allow ten days or so for UK mainland.

When I need to buy an electric trolley a gokart will be top of the list subject to me being able to use the buckle type of strap. Incidentally, several of my golfing pals have similar arthritis problems and would welcome any help to ease some of the problems met when carrying out what appear to be everyday tasks. We’ve opted for a buckle arrangement on the trolley rather than velcro as we find it a far more efficient fastening (especially when the velcro is a bit old and mucky and loses it’s stickability.
We’re posting you a sample strap and buckle in the post tonight to see how you get on with it. Hopefully it won’t be a problem. We don’t have any velcro type ones here, but if the buckle isn’t suitable and you wanted to adapt ours yourself we’d certainly be happy to send spares for you to experiment with. Let us know how you find it?

We Ladies take lots of stuff on the course in our trolley bags. Unfortunately, they will never sit up straight and are continually sliding over on their sides on the trollies. Does the Go Kart hold the bags in a perfectly straight and upright position?
Also do you have an umbrella holder to fit on the trolley?

I do not yet own a Go Kart so I visited your web site with great interest. But I notice that your cart uses a buckle/clip arrangement at the top for holding the golf bag in place, as I have arthritis problems with my hands I would not be able to release the buckle to remove the bag. Well we reckon it’s about time you had a bit of decent karma with golf trolleys. And the good news is that your batteries will be fine on the GoKart. If you have two existing batteries you could order the basic GoKart, no battery or charger (which comes with one battery fitting kit) @ £169, and a second battery fitting kit @ £12. So for £181 you’re all set up for 36 holes whenever you want. Shout if you want any other help.

1. We don’t specify a maximum weight. The GoKart is designed to carry one full set of golf equipment. So as long as you don’t carry bags of cement, pea shingle or other types of building materials, you will be fine.
2. It does free wheel forwards only. Pulling it backwards doesn’t do any harm but the resistance of the motor creates some drag.
3. There are no new models planned for the near future.
4. The GoKart is generally very rigid. There is no flex in the frame itself, just a small amount of movement due to normal clearances at the folding points.

2. Can the trolley be used in a ‘free-wheel’ mode?

I have had my kart for over 18 months and it is superb. I recently had a problem with my kart and the company sorted me out within days keeping me informed all the way. i have never experienced such excellent customer service. This is the first thing I mention to my friends when asked about my kart. As another example of fast response my previous entry was answered within 75 mins at 2203hrs. Quality all the way. Yes, having a blank cover in the back of the car would avoid all those tricky little ‘damn I’ve left my battery at home’ moments. We don’t offer one as an option yet, but it would be straightforward enough to send you one (without wiring, no need for that and it would make it more expensive) if you really think you’re going to continue to forget your battery. I confess I’ve only done it once and kicked myself all the way round. Give us a call and we’ll arrange it, yes?
The 18 and the 36 hole batteries will BOTH fit in the GoKart.
And we don’t actually sell the balls with our logo. Just use them for that one photograph in the brochure. You’ll also find one or two scattered around Scotland Hills Golf Club at Canterbury. Surely wasn’t us.

Another post from me as all i think about is playing golf and my new GoKart. Is the 36 hole battery different to 18 hole and requires a different trolley / connection? I picked up instruction booklet again when i got home and it shows to slide it into place – does this mean i cant buy a 36 hole battery now i have my 18 hole one?
Also as a possible ‘idea’, what is it about the battery that makes it the essential part of the trolley assembly? Not to make it electric obviously but for it to stand up etc? Is the the cover clips, or the weight and shape of it? I was only thinking as after speaking to your customer services today, i fancied an impromptu round of golf on the way home from work only to realise my battery is still at home on charge as recommended. Is there anything that can be devised (or even bought like the black battery cover if thats all thats needed) that would allow the kart to be erected and used as a push trolley? This can then be kept in the car along with the kart for these kind of moments – or if you’re daft enough to forget to actually take the battery?

A fantastic trolley and superb customer service. I do have to wonder though if you are stock pilling (ignore spelling mistkes) the umbrella holder and new wheels so everyone can get them when you let them loose on us owners? I can’t wait for both items to become available.
I would also like to suggest a few ideas for the new trolley bag
1- Umbrella sleeve on the front
2- A putter sleeve on the front
3- Fully waterproof
4- Cooler pocket for drinks
5- Funky colours not the boring black of other trolley/ bag manufacturers (you know which I mean)

The 20Ah battery will be fine for use with the GoKart. You could order the trolley only, which would come with a fitting kit to convert the battery, or you could order a complete GoKart set – trolley, battery and charger, plus a fitting kit. You would then have two batteries for the trolley. The 33Ah battery is too big I’m afraid.
The new wheels and front wheel revision are not ready yet, but as soon as they are, existing owners are entitled to them free of charge.

I have two batteries. Ist is DAXIN HIGH ENERGY from Jin Hua Daxin Power Source Co 6=FM-33 and is 12v33ah and the 2nd LONG WP20-12IE 12v20ah. Will either, preferably both, fit and work with your trolley? If I order now will I get ribbed wheels and redesigned front wheel. I play largely on clay and it seems both would be a good thing?

We can’t recommend a specific make, but all the cart bags we’ve tried (lots) fit the GoKart very well.

Which, in your opinion, is the best trolley bag to fit your gokart?I have recently bought 2 and was impressed by your prompt service and delivery. It is an excellent kart and it has made my golf day far more pleasant. I should have done it years ago.

Thank you for complimenting our website (we think it was a compliment – do you mean flashy as in flash animation or flashy as in showing off?).
We use exclusively sealed, steel ball races in the GoKart transmission. There are a total of nine in the main drive unit and another pair in the front wheel. We could have got away with using plain bushes in place of most of these, but proper bearings will last longer and absorb less energy, improving further the already very efficient GoKart drive system.
Which leads on to your query over the size of our battery. After 18 holes, our 18Ah battery will always have loads of power in hand. This is why we can say it’s OK to use for 27 holes.
The revised wheel will be introduced as soon as possible. We don’t have a release date at the moment. We’re doing everything we can to get them finished before the end of the year. Existing owners will be entitled to a pair free of charge.

Very good, if somewhat flashy website! I should like to know more about the wheel bearings on the gokart. Are they plastic or metal roller bearings? 18 hole battery of only 18AH appears a bit ‘lightweight for a 230 watt motor. Saw a golfer today with a gokart who claimed to be using a 27 hole battery. Finally, when do you expect to be offering the new wheels?

Hmmmmm…when the battery is very new I’d say yes, not a prob. You’d be wise to pack your bag frugally, and freewheel when you can (which is very possible, I quite often forget to turn the power on and just trundle it anyway).
But when the battery is a bit older, you may find it’s not quite so possible.
And no, noise isn’t a problem at all. There is a mechanical sound but it’s not something that would worry you on the course at all. I can’t think of anything comparable, but will spend the rest of the day with my ears tuned in!
And we’d all like to know what driver you’ve got in your bag please?

I am thinking of buying one of your products with the intention of only using it when playing 36 holes or when its very warm (if ever). On a flat course, (5,300 yds) is there any chance of the 18ah battery completing all 36? I have read a few comments about the motor being “noisy”just how noisy is it (anything comparable come to mind?)

I’ve been using my GoKart for about 9 months now – very pleased with it. In fact I think it may have even increased my fitness levels slightly – whether or not this is connected to the number of times I accidentally spin the speed roller round to full speed when replacing my driver in my bag resulting in a desperate sprint down the fairway to catch my trolley before it disappears off into the distance I can’t really say!!.
Any thoughts off adding numbered graduations to the speed roller so that I’ve got a sporting chance of spotting the fact that it’s turned up to 11 before I hit the on switch?

In a way I can understand you being concerned, but when you start looking around and seeing just what’s made of plastic these days, it’s rather reassuring. One customer told us the other day that submarines are made of it now…
We’ve been really diligent about the material specs – we can use different ‘mixes’ according to what features are needed in the various trolley bits, strength/flexibility/rigidity…and we’ve had advice from the best in designers and industry specialists. The end result is a trolley that’s strong, durable, light and (if we say so ourselves) rather damned attractive.
But, as with all things GoKartian, we want you to try it yourself. If you buy, we want you to put it through its paces. And if it doesn’t live up to expectations in every way, let us know and we’ll collect it and refund you.

Hi, I am considering the GoKart as my next electric trolley, but I would like to know how strong the frame is compared to a steel framed trolley. I don’t think I am particularly rough with a trolley but I always seem to have issues with both pull/push and electric trolleys breaking.

Yes, you could use either battery on each of the trolleys – good idea! If you choose different coloured trolleys, you could have black battery covers so that there isn’t a nasty colour clash situation. The black battery cover looks really smart with all the four highlight colours.

Hi Ian,
What you’ve got is the current motor – so there isn’t an alternative. We started fitting that one in May, and we’ve found it to perform well – certainly still very powerful and quieter under load.
You may find that the trolley will settle down somewhat with a bit of use. But there will always be a slight mechanical sound – not intrusive on the course, but you will be able to hear it running. The motor is a strong one compared to a lot of others (230W; it’ll get you up anywhere). This is an aspect of the trolley we think is really important, we don’t want you having to slow down your pace to wait for your trolley to catch up…
And as for those power wheelies…don’t let the greens committee catch you. And no donuts please (schoolteacher voice).

No, there’s no control that will keep the speed constant if you’re going uphill or through the rough.
But to avoid having to tweak the speed roller too often, we set it up so that once you’ve set your walking pace, when you stop don’t turn the speed roller down; just flick the on/off switch off. When you’ve played your shot and you want to start moving again, just turn the on/off switch to ‘on’ again. The trolley will smoothly build up to the walking pace you’ve previously set. All very convenient and easy to use.

We have looked at car chargers, but we’re not convinced that they’ll charge the battery effectively. A discharged battery needs a continuous charge to get it fully charged. Most people drive in fits and starts; maybe half an hour to work, half and hour back…the battery would be left discharged a lot of the time. A recipe for an unhappy battery…

I have looked through the galley and cannot find any photos that show how the seat fits onto the trolley nor the umbrella holder so we can see what the Kart looks like with the accesssories added. Any chance of getting such photos added?
Also have you considered a trade-in service for swapping older Go Karts for the newer ones your tantalising us with. I am really interested in buying a Kart however in referring to newer versions I dont want to spend £££’s and then find it replaced by a newer version a couple of months down the line.

We don’t have a brake on the trolley – we just wanted to keep the machine as simple as possible in the design stages, and when we tested prototypes the lack of brake really wasn’t a problem, so we opted not to include one.
The GoKart is easy to handle, and downhill it’s not heavy so it doesn’t feel like it’s running away from you – it’s just very easy to control.
But, as with every question about the trolley, the best test is for you to take it out on the course and try it out for yourself. Take us up on the 28 day try-out period after you buy. If your knees don’t like the GoKart then we’ll give your knees a complete refund.

Does the Go Cart have any brake function for going downhill so that you don’thave to pull it back to stop it running away from you? My present trolley doesn’t have a significant brake function and as I have bad knee joints it plays havoc with said joints when trying to stop it from running away downhill.

When you say matching trolleys, are you going to force him to play with a grey and pink one Jill? As much as we love our pink and grey trolleys (they’re very classy) we feel this may not be wise and would suggest maybe a manly blue and black?

Just wanted to say that I received my new PINK and grey GoKart a few weeks back and I am absolutely thrilled with it! So thrilled that I am trying furiously to convert my husband so that we can play with matching trolleys!! How sad! Anyway, so far I love my new GoKart and hopefully you will have invented the umbrella attachment by the time we need them for the winter. If I was to complain or moan or have any bad thing to say about my new trolley it would be that the motor is a little louder than my husband’s but who cares mine is so much cooler than his!!! Thank you GoKart people!

I have noticed on your blogs people suggesting that a bag could be fitted between the frame arms of the GoKart to hold drinks etc. and wondering whether you were going to produce one.
I have found that a child’s insulated lunch bag (see ebay item at this link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360054148972&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=023) is the perfect size. 5 minutes with a stanley knife and a pair of trolley straps has provided me with a removable insulated cool bag that fits nicely above the bag support arms.
I can provide a photo if anyone is interested.

Bearing in mind that the original brief was that GoKart should be a lean, mean golfing machine, to add a fridge at this point might be seen as something of a U turn. But if we promise we’ll think about it, will you believe us?
We haven’t considered how we’re going to deal with the Bahrain market yet, Ace. So far we’ve concentrated on the UK and moving out into the rest of Europe this year. We’re always open to ideas though!

The GoKart makes a slight mechanical noise. It’s not completely silent like some trolleys. The reason for this is our very powerful 230W motor. We purposely specified a motor that’ll cope with absolutely anything you’ll encounter on a golf course; you won’t have to help it up hills or slow down your walking pace in any situation when you’re playing. We figure this is important, and the trade off in the slight amount of noise is worth it. It’s certainly not intrusive.

Finally got round to writing and telling you how delighted I am with my PINK GoKart, first one in Belgium, I believe, in fact may be first one sold this year according to your stats (although year not finished!). My home course is quite flat, but I have tested on more challenging hills and dales which exist here, absoloutely no problem, I can well recommend your product, which I do regularly when playing different courses.

The dimensions of our battery are 181 x 76 x 167 mm (LxWxH). It’s a conventional golf trolley battery, and replacements are readily available from us and many other battery suppliers.
As you’ve seen, the battery sits inside a moulded cradle, which then clips into the GoKart. We designed the cradle so that batteries other than ours will fit if they’re the right size.
Our replacement batteries are supplied complete with the cradle, and cost £42 including next working day delivery. If you bought a battery from another supplier the cradle from your old battery can easily be transferred.
We refer to a ‘battery fitting kit’ in our webshop – this is to convert an existing battery to fit the GoKart; it’s just the cradle, the wiring and connectors.

We don’t specify a maximum weight for the seat. It’s been tested by someone who was 22 stones and was fine. Our policy on all our products, including the seat, is that if a customer buys something and it turns out to be unsuitable for them, we’ll take it back and give a full refund. The GoKart is fine with all shapes and sizes of golf bags, including stand bags. Sometimes the stand mechanism gets in the way which means the bag can restrict your options with it’s position on the trolley, but this is true with all trolleys and it’s never a real problem. The type of bag doesn’t effect the way the GoKart runs.

In answer to Ray’s question about the brolley holder (which we confess slipped through the net and should have been answered before now…)
Universal brolley holders won’t fit the GoKart because they’re all designed for the more usual tubular frames.
Yes, the plan is to make one ourselves this year but we can’t put a date on it.
We will of course let everyone know when it’s available (you’ll also be able to tell because sods law it’ll stop raining completely the moment we do. Headlines in the Telegraph; “GoKart umbrella holder causes Global warming…”)

the fleas I managed to tie them onto the wheels. However, although
they improved traction on the hillsides for a short while, they
gradually became less efficient as they tended to flatten out and got
very messy and did not smell too good either.
May be I am on the wrong track. If you have come up with a more
efficient idea like snow chains for car tyres I would like to hear
about it i.e.winter tyres?

Re; Tour bags on the GoKart. Yes they fit securely, and the trolley with cope with the weight fine. Depending on design you may have to position it differently though. Because there’s a fair amount of clearance between the bag rests and the frame, there’s a decent amount of room so that the underneath pockets should still be accessible. But as always, if you buy a GoKart and it’s not right we’ll refund you and get it collected.
How about we ask what owners are out there already using Tour bags?

The GoKart is very stable with its current wheelbase (580mm), so there are no plans to change that at the moment.
And our chargers are also three stage, so yes the same procedure; just leave the battery on charge all the time you’re not using the trolley. Can’t overcharge and uses only tiny amounts of electricity. click here for a link to the technical page

Yes the trolley will freewheel forward, so that you can easily trundle it in front of you if there is a problem. Whatever you do though, don’t forget to take the battery with you, as it’s needed to ‘lock’ the frame in place, and without it the trolley doesn’t stay upright.

Hi I have just placed an order for your gocart and would like to know if the tolley can still be used if the battery goes flat during a round of golf, is it possible to complete the round by pushing the trolley thankyou

The transit bag is £22 inc delivery and is available on the shop page.
If you mean a trolley bag, we haven’t got one yet (but it’s on our shopping list). A lot of people ask about the cart bags we use in the ads. They’re really nice and are made by gogolf (no relative). If you drop us a line we’ll let you know where we found them.

We’ve plans for a brolly holder this year. Though you know as soon as we make one it’ll stop raining and there’ll be hosepipe bans everywhere…

Have you any plans to make an umbrella holder that will fit on the GoKart?
