Yoga for Golf week two. Get that stretch going!

Feb 11 2013

Today we’re thinking about correct breathing, and give you couple of poses that stretch you and strengthen your arms and core. You’ll be in sixpack country before you know it (the muscley one as opposed to the Fosters type…)
Don’t forget to do the warm up from lesson one first! You can find it here

Get fit and bendy for the 2013 season

Jan 28 2013

We have the perfect way to get you in shape and ready to hit form early in the season. Our weekly ‘Yoga for Golf’ course is simple, quick to do and gets results really fast. And considering it’s so good for you it’s not a pain in the bum or anywhere else…

If you’re very organised you can put all the weeks together and have yourself an hour long yoga-fest once a week (or you can buy the DVD on Amazon here – does make life easier). But however you choose to organise it – just do it (sorry Nike). We PROMISE you will feel the benefits. We’re going to start with Lesson One today. And maybe a few out takes if you’re good.

Todays lesson covers the warm up, with follow up lessons dealing with flexibility and balance too. It really is the perfect preparation.

Meet Carol Jackson, our yoga teacher, who considering we were filming in a freezing cold barn and she had a hot water bottle down the back of her trousers much of the time, stayed quite amazingly cheerful. So, without any more ado, on with the downward dog…(?) (yoga move).

Relax! That’s an order by the way…

Apr 20 2010

…so here we are at the final lesson in our ten week GoKart Yoga for Golf course.  And we have a bit of a treat in store for you.  Kick off your shoes, get flat on the floor and relax for 5 minutes.  Yes, the other folks in the office are going to give you some looks but does it matter? You’ll emerge bright-eyed, bushytailed, and ready for …. oooh whatever!

Yes, you could do this on the course when you’re waiting but we would suggest maybe not.  The result can be  a) a very wet back,  b) the people in front thinking you’re being very rude, or c) Paramedics being called because you look dead.

We’ll be giving you news about a DVD to support the Yoga for Golf course, but for the moment here are all the previous lessons.  If you string the moves together you have a very effective whole-body workout designed to specifically benefit your golf.  Can’t be bad.

And in case you missed it before – the out takes from shooting.  Just in case you think we’re being uncharacterically serious…

Step by step Yoga moves to improve your golf!

Apr 06 2010

You’ll surprise yourself with what you can manage this week.  Start with the simple version and then work up to the full shoulder stand – but whatever level you tackle you’ll find your strength and flexibility will improve.  Carol makes it looks very easy, and with a bit of practice, it is!  (not like golf then!) So here’s Lesson 8;
