Skycaddie bracket on a GoKart – will it fit?

Feb 18 2009

We keep getting asked if the Skycaddie can be fitted to the GoKart. Yes. Easy peasy. And here’s a photo to prove it, courtesy of Stewart Goodwin. Didn’t leave the scorecard visible then Stewart? That doesn’t look like middle of the fairway mud on those treads…obviously putting them to their off-road use.

So we reckon a GoKart bracket wouldn’t go amiss for such a use, but it’s nice to know that until we produce one there’s a solution that doesn’t involve sticky tape and Blue Peter craft type expertise.

Michael’s successful maiden voyage…

Feb 17 2009

First time out with his GoKart, Michael Walton aced his first hole in one at the fourth at Walhampton. 187m uphill, the fourth is a good 5 wood and not the easiest hole to make mincemeat of.

It was his very first hole-in-one, and as you can see, Michael was so thrilled he immediately ripped off all his clothes and headed straight for a Carribean holiday to celebrate.  Well we asked for a photo, expecting a pic of him and his mate Bill (who witnessed said feat) looking a bit chilly in waterproofs on a windswept wintery Hampshire landscape – but we rather prefer this.

Used GoKarts

Jan 31 2009

Following on from our news earlier in the week, we now have some used GoKarts for sale in our webshop.  The price is £140, plus post & packing (price new £194). This will include the trolley, battery, charger and 12 months warranty. All of the trolleys will have been completely stripped, re-built and upgraded to the latest specification. They will be supplied with our standard battery, good for up to 27 holes.

These GoKarts have been used for various reasons; testing and development in house, loaned as demonstrators, or taken in as part exchange. Although as good as new mechanically, there are superficial signs of use and so cosmetically do not look brand new anymore. Our standard terms apply, so it you buy one of these trolleys, and it doesn’t live up to your expectations for any reason, we’ll collect it and give you all your money back.

To place an order click here to go to the shop. At the moment there’s a good choice of colour combos – but they’re getting snapped up, so if you have your heart set on a pink and grey one, and nothing else will hit the spot for you, better click fast.

**UPDATE – 17/03/09. Used trolleys are currently sold out**

Customer threatens GoKart staff

Jan 30 2009

I sent my order for a Gokart on Thursday, someone from Gokart phoned me on Friday, and low and behold the Gokart arrived on Saturday. How cool was that. Many thanks for your prompt service, should the Gokart break down, I hope the service is as good. If not, I shall be up there chasing you around the office with my 7 iron.
Many thanks indeed,
Peter W, Saltash

Prices are going up soon!!

Jan 29 2009

We’ve held on as long as possible, but we have to increase the price of a GoKart. From March 1st 2009, the GoKart with standard battery will be £219, plus £15 for UK mainland delivery. With the 36 hole battery, the price will be £249, plus delivery.

We thought that a bit of advance notice would be kind!

We launched in 2007 and, from the very beginning, owners have enthused  about GoKart. They love the way it folds, how it performs on the course and  the way they don’t have to fiddle around with connecting batteries. The new two year warranty  just introduced reflects how happy we are with the way it’s working. We’ve won a handful of design awards (click here, here and here), but most importantly more and more golfers are trying GoKarts and loving them. We’re really excited to be going into the 2009 season!

But we have to keep an eye on the figures, and our decision to make the GoKart ourselves, rather than get it made outside the UK, does put the pressure on costs. We’ve already cut out the middle man by selling direct, rather than through golf shops, but still our margin has become very thin. We believe that, even at the higher prices, the GoKart is good value, and hope you will agree. We’re determined to maintain the high standards of design, manufacture and service that we’ve established so far, but we have get the numbers to add up, and as raw material prices continue to rise due to the weak pound, something has to give.
