GoKart Christmas caption competition re-loaded
Dec 11 2010 Posted in Geoff Waterhouse, GoKart News by GoKartWe’ve resurrected Geoff Waterhouse from last Christmas. No, don’t worry he’s alive and well, still doing his best to stop Cumbria taking itself too seriously; we’ve just recycled his superb crimble illustration, the Ho Ho HoKart.
So, just like last last year, post your caption in the comments below, and we’ll send a dozen GoKart balls to the one that tickles us the most. Entries close at the end of the month. If you need some inspiration, have a look at the comments on last years’ competition (click here).

Golf – just a bad habit?

Most difficult hole in Cumbria?
Sep 23 2010 Posted in Geoff Waterhouse, Golf News by GoKart“The 535 yard 13th at the Wasdale Golf Club Cumbria was described by Arnold Palmer as ‘quite tricky’. You could easily be distracted by the magnificent views across to the Sellafield Nuclear plant on the Cumbrian coast – but concentration on your initial drive is essential. If you drift too far right the fairway falls away quite sharply. You’re not out of bounds but you will require some fairly strong lob wedge action. Choice of iron is critical as you approach the green. Anything through the green could involve something of a scramble. Aptly named ‘The Eire’ the 13th has, ironically, never been eagled. S.I.1″
(thankyou to Geoff Waterhouse, who we are reliably informed had a tap in for a birdie after taking this photo).

An ode to Goose Poo.
Aug 26 2010 Posted in Geoff Waterhouse, GoKart News by GoKartOfficially announcing the winner of our highly acclaimed and prestigious GoKart Limerick Competition.
Thank you to everyone who entered, the committee had a tough job deciding, but eventually plumped for Dave Marriage’s graphic description of the fairways at his local. Dave will receive the original drawing in celebration of his literary genius.
