So what’s so good…
Aug 16 2008 Posted in Customer comment, Euro, Golf News by GoKart…about your favourite courses? Maybe it’s your home club or just somewhere you play whenever you get the chance. Maybe it’s their bacon sarnies, or the way the long shadows hit the contours on the eighteenth fairway late on a summer evening if you want to be more poetic…
We’re lucky in that the game can be so varied, we’re not stuck on a pitch or a court that’s a certain size. (more…)

Aug 11 2008 Posted in Customer comment, Euro by GoKartIn our last poll, we asked the question “what’s the hardest thing to change about your game?”. There were three answers to choose from: Grip, Alignment or Temperament.
50% of voters said Temperament (the correct answer). 28% said Alignment and 22% choose Grip. This is worrying, because it means 50% of you think it’s harder to tweak your Vardon, or maybe open your stance a tad than have a brain transplant. Unless medical science has really moved on suddenly, surely there was only one answer?

Can the Tiger beat the Bear?
Jul 15 2008 Posted in Customer comment, Euro, GoKart News, Golf News by GoKartIn our poll, we asked if Jack’s tally in the majors would be beaten by Tiger. 75% of you said yes.
Well firstly, we quoted Jack’s total as being 19, which was wrong because he’s actually won 18 majors (the researcher concerned was taken to the boardroom and fired). Secondly, we said Tiger had 13 wins to his name; that was true when we posted the poll – before the US Open.
75% of votes cast were in favour of Tiger overtaking Jack. With only a deficit of four, and a poorly knee, standing in the way now, we have to agree Jack’s record looks like it’s going to fall. Unless… is Jack playing at Birkdale this year? While the Cat’s away…

Apr 16 2008 Posted in Customer comment, Euro by GoKart“Picture the scene. A mixed doubles “Greensomes” competition. The two lady players standing 30 metres ahead of the men’s tee with their backs to the men, chatting and waiting for the two men to drive off.
20 metres closer to the men’s tee, parked sideways on the buggy path was ‘Lorena’, my trusty GoKart (affectionately named ‘Lorena’ after Ms Ochoa, the lady golfer, who is also small and perfectly formed, just like my GoKart !!)
Parked on the buggy path next to the men’s tee, and pointing towards the girls, and Lorena, was a ‘full on’ motorised golf buggy being used by an elderly gentleman who was the other member of our foursome.
As the two of us (men) were setting up on the tee, there was a sudden strong gust of wind, which revealed the “deliberate mistake” on the part of the elderly gent. He had parked, and left his motorised buggy, without applying the handbrake !! The gust was just sufficient to move the buggy a few inches forward, to the point where the slight downhill gradient on the buggy path, and gravity, took over.
The unmanned golf buggy started to pick up speed down the path, heading for the two lady golfers, (more…)

Apr 05 2008 Posted in Customer comment, Euro, GoKart News by GoKartWe asked when does the golf season start; on the first day of the Masters, or don’t be silly, it never ends. The result was an overwhelming 86% vote for the latter. That surprised us. We thought there’d be a larger slice of us owning up to being fair weather golfers. So, is this proof that the brits are tougher than we thought, or is it just another sign of global warming levelling out the seasons?
