GoKart is Magic Brand of 2008

Nov 01

The website Golfmagic.com (the liveliest online golf forum in the UK) recently held their annual awards. When we were nominated for ‘Best Brand’, up against some of the big boys (Nike, Callaway, Taylormade etc), we were delighted to bits. Then we heard we’d won and our delightedness reached another level. Bourbon biscuits were purchased. (more…)

So what’s so good…

Aug 16

…about your favourite courses? Maybe it’s your home club or just somewhere you play whenever you get the chance. Maybe it’s their bacon sarnies, or the way the long shadows hit the contours on the eighteenth fairway late on a summer evening if you want to be more poetic…Pretty golf course

The hardest thing to change

Aug 11

In our last poll, we asked the question “what’s the hardest thing to change about your game?”. There were three answers to choose from: Grip, Alignment or Temperament.

50% of voters said Temperament (the correct answer). 28% said Alignment and 22% choose Grip. This is worrying, because it means 50% of you think it’s harder to tweak your Vardon, or maybe open your stance a tad than have a brain transplant. Unless medical science has really moved on suddenly, surely there was only one answer?

Can the Tiger beat the Bear?

Jul 15

In our poll, we asked if Jack’s tally in the majors would be beaten by Tiger. 75% of you said yes.Jack & Tiger

Well firstly, we quoted Jack’s total as being 19, which was wrong because he’s actually won 18 majors (the researcher concerned was taken to the boardroom and fired). Secondly, we said Tiger had 13 wins to his name; that was true when we posted the poll - before the US Open.

75% of votes cast were in favour of Tiger overtaking Jack. With only a deficit of four, and a poorly knee, standing in the way now, we have to agree Jack’s record looks like it’s going to fall. Unless… is Jack playing at Birkdale this year? While the Cat’s away…
