Gripping stuff
Aug 18 2008 Posted in GoKart News by GoKartHere’s a sneak preview of a change we’re making to the GoKart wheels.
To make best use of our famous furiously frisky motor, we’ll be bringing out a grippier wheel to get that all that power transferred more efficiently. Needless to say, any existing owner suffering wheelspin problems will be able to get hold of a new pair of wheels free of charge. More news on availability soon.
Please note, there’s no need to tell us now if you’d like the new wheels. Please keep an eye on our newsletter; we’ll let you know as soon as we have them available.

A quick and cheap fix for the slipping wheels of your Go Kart in winter weather is to fasten cable ties around the tread and thru’ the spokes of the wheel. Fasten with the “buckle” on the inside of the wheel & cut off the excess tie. This improves grip considerably and will last until the long awaited new wheels are avaiable. All we need now is a solution to the clogging of the front wheel!

November 3rd, 2008 at 12:45 pm
love my cart owned one since launch would love a new set of wheels as my course is hilly keep informed!
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:00 pm
We don’t have a date but we are keen to get the new wheels ready asap. Blooming slippery here in Kent too…
October 30th, 2008 at 10:12 am
This is getting urgent after the first frost of winter. When will these be available?
October 27th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Looking forward to the new tyres and front wheel assembly, we love our Go Karts which have become a talking point with club members.
October 24th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
We recently purchased 2 GoKarts and they are absolutely brilliant. Several of our friends are waiting for their old trolleys to come to the end of their useful lives as they wish to change. Some have already started changing because they are so impressed. The only down side is the wet weather and the front and side wheels. The front wheel is now getting clogged up by wet cut grass and the side wheels are slipping in the wet weather on our slippery slopes. Please hurry with the new wheels and front assembly as they are desperatley needed in this wet weather.
Keep up the good work guys. We will be looking at brolly and holder very soon.
Den & Sue
October 20th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Loving the new kart, only had it a month but it feels like we’ve been best friends for years! Need a set of the off-road tyres though as they have been slipping in the wet a little, looking forward to their release keep me posted. thx
October 15th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Yep, we’re confident that the brolley holder is really robust. If, however, your GK has a bit of a Mary Poppins moment, it does really depend on what altitude it achieves before plummeting to earth. Are you sure your brolley’s up to it?
btw did we mention the GoKart brolley that’s happening?
October 13th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
wheels and new front assembly are a great idea having had problems in the past please keep me posted
regarding the umbrella holder on my course the rain is nearly always with high winds being coastal are you sure the handle design is strong enough
October 7th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Hi Dan,
We’re beavering away at them, we promise! No specific date at the moment though.
October 6th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Any idea when??? – Its getting wet !
October 6th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
sounds a great idea about wheels and front wheel assembly. i had problems in frosty conditions with ice build up in front wheel and slipping with main wheels. please keep me notified of when available.
i am well impressed with the go kart which i have had for 18 months and everybody at the golf club loves it. i also purchased a go kart bag which also looks great.
Thanks
Keith
September 28th, 2008 at 8:17 am
This sounds like a good idea !!
September 19th, 2008 at 10:23 am
As my course is normally wet most of the time, the treaded wheels and the new front wheel design will be a godsend. Please keep me posted. also looking forward to the brolly holder
Cheers
September 17th, 2008 at 6:04 am
Chris,
That’ll still work OK – they’re not going to be like tractor tyres.
September 16th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Hey !!! if you bring out a wet weather tyre will i still be able to hold the cart up from the back and wheel spin my tyres clean on wet grass ?. Clogging of the front wheel is a problem, just needs the guard a little closer to the tyre to scrape it off. Great Cart so far.
September 16th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Awaiting new wheels with interest – anything to stop sliding.
September 16th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
I look so trendy at the minute, but things move on and these trendy fashions change so quick. These new grippy wheels will ensure I am still ahead of my time (which in fairness isn’t hard where I live!!)
September 16th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Great product! Just played Addinton Palace and the gokart was admired by many – unlike my golf on the occasion!. Would you have any small leaflets or cards? It would make my life easier rather than give the life history of the ‘gokart’ when I would rather be in the 19th. The sort of questions I get are – where to get one and – is it a new type of powercaddy or a hilly billy, and how much….?!!! etc.etc. Great cart and once I got to grips with pushing the battery firmly down I have not had a problem with it over the last 9 months. Brolley holder!? Winters coming – perhaps snow shoes and a hip flask holder would be more useful!!
September 16th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
To combat our beautiful summer and to be ready for winter golf up in Yorkshire grippy wheels and a non grass collecting front guard would be a great addition to an already a much admired product
September 16th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
I too have been having problems with the wheel spining and the front wheel clogging.
Please could you put me on the list for replacement wheels and front guard.
I am also keen to know when the brolley holder will be launched
September 16th, 2008 at 8:19 am
I am really pleased that you are bringing out the grippier wheels and new wheel guard.
I have been suffering of late with grass getting stuck in the front wheel due mainly to the exceptionally bad weather.
I have had a few problems with my kart in the past but your excellent response in dealing with them is second to none.
Please could you put me on the list for replacement wheels and front guard.
I am also keen to know when the brolley holder will be launched!!
September 16th, 2008 at 7:13 am
Very happy with golf cart unhappy with the slopes on my course need grippy wheels and front bag support
Many Thanks
Herbie

My GoKart is now 16 months old and recently my battery charger failed. One telephone call and twenty hours later I had a new charger free of charge (No pun intended). This company are not only exceptional for their after sales service and responsibilities but also for the family attitude they adopt when dealing with their customers. This great gesture of offering their latest modifications and ideas around to their customers is very generous and typical of this companies honourable intentions towards it’s customers.
I realise this space was intended to talk about New wheels, but I had to express my gratitude somewhere, and yes! my Kart could do with a set of new wheels, as the treads are getting very smooth!!!
Thank you GoKart
September 15th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Great news about the impending release of the new wheels & front gaurd, could you please keep me informed of the release date as I would like to transform my amazing trolley into an even better one.
I have now had my Go-Kart 6 months & I must say that I am absolutely delighted with it.
The only other accessory for me would be a brolley holder since I live in the NE of Scotland it really is a necessity, can you let me know of the current status of this please?
September 15th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
New wheels should be a great improvement but the existing ones allow me to do a party trick on wet grass of a full power wheel spin on the slop up from the 11th tee when the wheels spin furiously and the trolly does not move an inch. Love my GoKart best trolly I have ever had
September 15th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Please put me on the list for the new wheels when available. After sales service like I’ve never known before.Small problem resolved the day after sending email, great company.
September 15th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
I can outrun any other trolley at the club will be even better with more grip pity you dont make drivers
September 15th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Hi Gokart stuff.
My Gokart is fantastic, but after this weekend, rain all days, I have wished
to have the new gripper wheels. The course is very slippery. This wheels
are great idea – O.Kucera.
September 15th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Lynda,
Eventually we could offer this, but not for the time being. Sorry.
September 15th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
Gripping stuff !!!!!!!!! but are the spokes gonna be pink?????
September 15th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
Excellent !!,
Golfing in probably the wettest part of the South West , near Princetown
Dartmoor – no not behind those walls, I certainly need a pair (I would pay)
September 7th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Another good bit of pro-active thinking by GoKart. Can’t wait till the wheels and the new wheel guard are available.
September 5th, 2008 at 6:32 pm

Received the replacement score card cover today 5/9/08.what great service only E-mailed you yesterday. I hope you can please me even more by explaining the meaning of ” your comment is awaiting moderation.”as shown on my previous message. Thanks again for your excellent service.
September 5th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Hi Gokart
I seem to have gone missing from your Blog.
I wrote and asked to be counted in for the new Wheels which seem like an exellent idea and also mentioned that the score card cover had suffered broken hinges and become detached. You printed this at first with the following words attached. “Your comment is awaiting moderation”. Please could you explain what this means and why I have been deleted. I hope it wasnt for the mild criticism of your design.
I still think the Kart is Great.
Puzzled Bill
September 5th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Please do put me down for the grippier wheels and the non-clogging front wheel fitting- these are really useful developments to what is already a great bit of kit. many thanks,
September 5th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
The new wheels are just what i need. I would like a set when available. As I golf all winter, the new grippers are the answer to my praryers.no more spinning on the frosty grass.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:33 pm
WOW! Ordered my GoKArt on Wednesday evening, received it Friday and took it out Saturday and Sunday. Awesome Response times.
I made the mistake of buying a remote controlled trolley on ebay last year and it was a nightmare. I had to read the breaks on the fairway for it to keep remotely straight with constant manipulation. I managed to sell it back on ebay (at a profit!!) so that ended well.
After carrying for a year I got the GoKart wondering if an electric trolley was for me (the superb 28 day return offer helped me decide). I do not believe I have been happier with a purchase. This is an amazing trolley and so so poweful. I need a quick jog to keep up with it at full steam. Thank you Go Kart, NO way I will ever think of sending it back.
Wheelspin – I do get wheel spin but that’s usually when I send it away too fast and desperately hang on to the end to save me running after it. the spinning wheels allow me to keep it near me as I manage to slow it down. With very grippy wheels I would be worried about being taken along!!
The new ones do look good however and would like to try them on.
September 1st, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Nigel,
Not if your club specifically requires hedgehogs. The studs on these keep the wheels lifted off the ground. Our new wheels won’t do this. You can fit hedgehogs to the GoKart wheels though
September 1st, 2008 at 8:05 pm
New wheels look good would these take the place of fitting hedgehogs
September 1st, 2008 at 5:48 pm
Great news about the new wheels . I have experienced wheel spin on the steeper parts of our course but put it down to my Gokart still sporting ‘L’ plates – took delivery end of June – and sometimes still use pull trolley when only doing 10 holes! So would love to receive replacement wheels before winter conditions set in (or is ours the only course this summer where they never truly went away! )
September 1st, 2008 at 5:30 pm
As I have said B4, my course here in the Lakes in quite hilly. The Go-Kart takes everything in its stride. BUT these new wheels look GR8 so put me down 4 a set please. AND ALSO the new front bit to help with the unclogging of grass [dam nuisance in the wet].
September 1st, 2008 at 8:26 am
HEY GUYS AND GALS IVE JUST READ ANOTHER BLOG ABOUT THE NEW WHEELS FANTASTIC JUST WHAT I NEED FOR OUR HILLY COURSE. PLEASE SEND ME A SET ASAP, WELL DONE AND THANKS FOR LISTENING
DIGBY
August 31st, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Hi, Great news about the new front wheels. I cant wait for all that extra grip and have some good steep hills to test them on!
August 31st, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Hi my Gokart is fantastic and a set of gripper wheels would certainly help the wheel spin problems on my course which is very steep in places and wet in winter periods. Thank you for all your support at gokart .Peter
August 31st, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Hi I love my Kart and a set of gripper wheels will imrove it a lot on my course which is very steep in places.
August 30th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Hi
I used the GoKart for the first time last weekend and experienced wheelspin due to a conbination of wet conditions and hilly course – which is the norm for the golf courses in my area. A set of gripper wheels would go a long way to resolve the problem. I’d be delighted to accept a set of the new wheels when available.
That said the conbination of GoKart’s powerful motor and light weight frame makes it a pleaseure to use.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
These new whells look great! Please put me down for a set of them!
Rob
August 28th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Hi,
My own course is very hilly so i would very much like the new wheels when available
Thanks.
Kevin
August 27th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Hi Gang
The wheels look great should do the job nicely
I’d love to try them out if I’m eligible?
I’m sure my course will test them fully
(my current wheels are blue if it matters)
Keep up the great work it really is appreciated
Kind Regards
August 27th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Fantastic idea, splendid peace of kit, could you please email me when these are available, thanks.
August 27th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Ken,
A parking brake is certainly something we could consider for the future, but it’s not possible with the GoKart in it’s current form. Parking across the slope works OK though.
August 27th, 2008 at 6:06 pm
Thank you for the warm reception I received when I purchased my Gokart on a visit to your premises recently. I would just like to say that ‘it does everything it says on the packet’ and more. So much so that a friend and golfing pal has also just purchased one as well.
Certainly arouses interest at the golf club.
Gripping wheels are a great idea, I too play the hilly courses on the south coast so please add me to your list for when they become available.
P.S. How about a braking system to stop kart rolling when stationary on ‘them there hills and slopes’.
August 27th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
Danilo,
We don’t have a date for availability of the revised wheels. Please signup for our newsletter and we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
The black battery is available now.
August 27th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
Hi, can you tell me when gokart with the new grippier wheels will be available? And also tell me when the black battery will be available?. As soon as you’ll release this changes I’ll place the order straight away (to spain). I have a friend in Italy who’s got it and is very happy about it.
Thanks
Danilo
August 26th, 2008 at 6:54 pm
Thanks, I see it is already in transit, that was quick! If only my game was as good.
Steve
August 26th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
New wheels look great. Put me down for a set, my 9 hole course plays on a hill these should reduce wheels spin experienced as soon as any moisture is on the ground.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
After playing in a rather wet cornwall over the weekend we discussed about trying hedgehog wheels when a fellow gokart owner told us about the new wheels. hope the mud guard will be available soon.
Great after sales as normal
August 26th, 2008 at 7:57 am
Please put my name down for these when they become available. I, like others on this page, have already suffered much wheelspin due to the, ahem, “summer” conditions we are currently facing . . .
August 25th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
Steve,
Thanks for your order. These changes will be available as soon as we can get them ready. We’ll keep you up to date via our newsletter.
August 25th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
As the result of everything I have seen on this website which has impresses me I have just placed an order for a new go kart from this site as it is my first electric trolly so have no experience of the issues. Will some of these modifications come with the new cart or should I wait? I don’t mind being a guiniepig as my club is on the top side and bottom of a wet welsh mountain and I willl need the grip.
Steve
August 25th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
The new wheels look great, just the job to stop wheel spin
on our hilly back nine. Put me down for a set when they are available.
Go Kart & customer service first class.
Many thanks, Peter.
August 25th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
These will be a great addition to an already excellent piece of equipment.
Thanks, John.
August 24th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
Hi there I sent you an e-mail regarding wheel spin last week. I wondered where I could get hedgehog wheels to fit my trolley. However these would seem to be the answer. Could I possibly have these type for my trolley, when they are available, and a pink badge. Thank you very much. You seem to be able to read my mind. Kerri
August 24th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Great had a bit of wheel spin today but played 27 holes with
my 18 hole battery what a brilliant trolley it is.
PS How’s the brolley holder comeing along
August 23rd, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Robert the Bruce’s castle ( Lochmaben second hole) was no doubt a challenge to the knights and peasants charging up the motte, and slopping into the bailey. It certainly made me think of non-slip tread. However, I tried the friendly approach rather than the charge.
The GoKart has cooperated when given tlc and gentle encouragement, and now sails up quite politely, but the new tread looks admirable. Much better than the mere studs I thought of!
Best wishes,
Bill
August 23rd, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Great news on the new wheels and front wheel attachment.I have had my GoKart for well over a year and these were two problem areas in the winter. Please register me for these when they are ready.
Some companies clai good customer relations bu you proove it.
Thanks
Gus.
August 23rd, 2008 at 11:29 am
Yes I am interested – Excellent idea especially suited to this “dry” summer we are having!!
August 23rd, 2008 at 10:22 am
Hi Gokart.
A top idea. Have encountered the wheel spin problem. Please let me know when available.
The GOKART looks to B gettin Better and Better.
shahid mohammed
August 22nd, 2008 at 9:37 pm
At least the tread looks as if it will have a chance on wet grass and banks, good idea.
August 22nd, 2008 at 8:00 pm
Hi,
These wheels sound great for winter golf when the ground gets slippy, Please let me know when they are available.
Joe
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Great idea am interested
August 22nd, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Great news about the wheels. Put me down for a set when they’re ready. Nice to see the Kart evolving. Darwin would be proud of you!
August 22nd, 2008 at 9:05 am
Dear Go Kart,
The non slip wheels are a great idea as mine do slide in wet conditions and on sides of hills.
Add me to the list please.
August 21st, 2008 at 6:23 pm
yes please when available. You guys must win the best service award in british industry,if not you ought to. and got yet an other customer for you.
August 21st, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Definite improvement, a must in our climate !
August 21st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Yes I am interested
August 21st, 2008 at 4:45 pm
oh yes please………..
August 21st, 2008 at 3:53 pm
I have just bought a new go Kart and am so far very happy with it. I really could do with the new wheels as I am already slipping. Please put me down for the new wheels. I have also managed to break the front strap attachment which is used to hold the bag in place, don’t now how??? any chance of a replacement?
August 21st, 2008 at 2:58 pm
I would like these as i have experienced slide on grassy hills going 45 degrees. Ok going straight up.
August 21st, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Totally agree with Adams comments of 20th August. Have often wondered if the trolley was strong enough to chauffeur me around the course….. not cause I’m lazy, but to see the look on peoples faces! I’ll look forward to your new “buggy board”.
August 21st, 2008 at 12:57 pm
A plan is already forming – new wheels for general use, and permanently fitted hedgehogs on the originals!
August 21st, 2008 at 10:06 am
ahhh non slip wheels thank you.
August 21st, 2008 at 8:20 am
As the new owner of a pink go-kart, I wish to register how pleased I am with my recent purchase. I am amazed by the interest my new “toy” is already generating!
Your Customer Service is also top of the list!
Playing on the hilly courses of the South coast, and with the rainfall we have experienced in the last couple of weeks, the only negative side has been the “spinning” wheels and the mud guard problem. So I am elated by your move to address these – impressive news!
Please add me to your list.
August 21st, 2008 at 8:09 am
The wheels look great, and they will be perfect for those winter/summer conditions……you know, rain rain, rain, rain, rain and more rain… I’d love some to replace my existing ones when they are available.
August 20th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
How good are you guys,I was just browsing your site reading about the new front mudgaurd assembly. And was about to ask about more knobbly tyres after todays round of sliding round the course.. when i notice you are already on the case, bring them on, also love neil robertsons idea of the clicking speed adjuster, cause the power of these karts does occasionally catch you of guard, and drags ya down the fairway…Keep it up gokart.. Ste…
August 20th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
great news on the new wheels.would be great getting new ones thank you keep up the good work ,im very impressed
August 20th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
the wheels are looking good. the kart has pleanty of pulling power, but i do struggle with a couple of particular hill and also in the wet. Now you will be able to get the power down, its made me think…. ever thought of a trolley attachment for us to stand on and get pulled around?! just a crazy thought
August 20th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
New gripper wheels would be great especially with the wet weather we have been experiencing. Add me to your list.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
Golfing in Argyll meansits wet, wet ,wet and wheel spin is a norm as is the clogging front wheel so I look forward to the mods. Once again GoKart listen, learn and act on the feedback.
August 20th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Great idea – I have two fairly steep hills on my course and gripper wheels would make a difference. Another member of my club was impressed by my Go Kart and has already bought one – hopefully more orders to come.
August 20th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
I play at Hawkhurst which is a very hilly course. Better wheel grip will be a bonus. Thanks for keeping me up to date.
August 20th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Looking forward to gripping stuff.Whats the point in having spikes in your shoes and slick tyres. Lets all stick to-gether.
August 20th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Look forward to the new design wheels, they look pretty good to me, again well done GO KART!!!!!!!
August 20th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Living on the cost we play a lot of hilly courses, on the Southdowns in the Brighton area, this will help enormously. Well done again chaps.
August 20th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Very impressed with my trolley so far.
Please put me down for the new wheels when available, also the improved front support.
Your customer service is second to none.
August 20th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
great idea with the wheels, just played my course (alice springs ) and found that the wheels started sliding on the muddy areas /wettish parts (uphill) i found i had to put it on the slowest setting to climb the hills, looking at the new wheels with more grip that problem will be a thing of the past, keep up the good work
paul inker
August 20th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Replacement wheels? This is fantastic news and yet another example of the exceptional customer service received! Have had a few problems on hilly/wet courses with my current “slicks” and the new design should help. Thanks again Go Kart!
August 20th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Like many others I too am looking forward to the new improved wheels, and to the redesigned front wheel assembly.
What I really REALLY need, however, is for a total redesign of these units along the lines of the Mississippi paddle steamers! Failing that, how about fitting a snorkel or maybe even a full scuba set??
August 20th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Hi Guys, Funny you should mention Wheel spin as it happens to my
GOKART quiet often on our course which is a mountain course, it happens more on the contours of the course & on some of the steeper slopes. But what a service you guys provide FREE WHEELS and front end Brills. In this day of doom & gloom its nice to be dealing with a company that realy does care about aftersales Well don Lads & Thank you very much
August 20th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
New grippier wheels would be great as would the re-designed front wheel. I had to return my Go Kart last week due to a faulty on/off switch. You sorted this out and returned my cart to me in time for my usual Tuesday round. The cart worked perfectly. Thank you very much for this excellent service. I am also looking forward to the umbrella holder and cart bag.
Keep up the good work.
Peter.
August 20th, 2008 at 11:24 am
Yes please new wheels would be of great help. I play on a very hilly course and one experiences a gread deal of wheel spin, particularly when conditions are wet. It is very easy to share the opinion of many others, your after sales service is first class, long may it remain so!
August 20th, 2008 at 10:53 am
Excellent. Keep these good ideas flowing.
I’ll buy a pair when they’re available.
Also looking forward to the umbrella holder launch.
The seat is the business too BTW. Makes that sip of coffee or Brandy taste even better when you’re sitting down. Why is that?
A scraper/brush option on the front mudguard, to keep the front wheel clear of mud/grass on the course ,would be useful. I do regularly get clogged up during a round.

This is great news as I play on a hilly course wheel spin can be a problem for my husband and I. Look forward to receiving some new wheels for both our carts.

Great idea, these look perfect, I’ll definitely be after a set!
August 20th, 2008 at 8:25 am
Another fantastic improvement. Any idea when available, please inform or just send. Thanks again for outstanding service!!
August 20th, 2008 at 7:43 am
I too experienced wheel spin issues in the wet at my course. After some advice from the excellent guys at GoKart I fitted a set of “caterpillars” to the rear wheels. Problem solved.
The standard fixing clips supplied with the caterpillars won’t fit but a long cable tie through each gap in the wheel fixes them in place nicely.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:38 am
I have had customer service from you to date that far exceeds my expectations ( probably due to other companies who couldn’t give a damn) but the offer of replacement wheels and a new ‘front end’ free of charge, is almost unbelieveable. Are you a charity???. Thanks and keep on with the great service that you offer. I have been battering my mates ears with just how good a company you are, and hope one day they will buy from you.
Thanks again
Rod

Can’t wait, my club is in a forest in Germany, and with so much rain this year wheel spin is a big problem, the umbrella holder will be an answer to my prayers. However, my GoKart is miles faster than anyones power kaddy and regularly outstrips them in races down the fairway!
August 19th, 2008 at 11:51 pm
Yes these look great a great improvement on the previous wheels ,looking forward to trying out a pair!
August 19th, 2008 at 11:37 pm
Great idea, I’ve had plenty of wheel spin’s going up my hilly course. I’m in South Wales must be the weather……
August 19th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
Looks fantastic – I have many many problems with wheel spins. Spokeless ones would make cleaning easier also.
Keep up the good work
August 19th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
they look great let me know when they are available please as my course gets very wet and claggy or oterwise known as clarty in the north [muddy]
August 19th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
The service is great and this offer of the new wheels is no more than we have come to expect from Go-kart. I have recommended six people form Kenilworth Golf club who have bought the machine yet I’m not on your email system. my husband who bought a year after me send your emails through. Can you please add me?
August 19th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
Hi,
I have had problems with a “clogging” front wheel and slipping wheels and I am very impressed and pleased that you are developing solutions to these problems. This is yet another fantastic example of your superb approach to customer service. Well done and I wish all manufacturers had the same standards as you do! It really does make you stand out from the crowd.
Could you please let me know when these wheels and teh fornt wheel modification become available please.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
Kind regards,
Kevin.
August 19th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Yeah, These would come in useful here too! No more skidding from side to side when trying to get up to the elevated tee boxes. I had to put the cart on full power to get up one of the bankings and as soon as it gripped it “popped a wheelie” but needless to say I didn’t look as cool as I did when I did the same on my BMX in the 80′s :)
August 19th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Grippier wheels would be great during this wonderful non-drought time down here in North Devon, but my GoKart is still performing really well under really difficult conditions. The umbrella holder would also be a very welcome accessory! Thank you GoKart – great product, excellent customer service!
August 19th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
It is good to see you keep developing the Go Kart.
The new wheels look to be a good idea as I do get occasional wheelspin on the odd sharp incline.
The front new front wheel cover appears to be excellent provided it still gives full support for the bag.
Please let me know when these modified items will be available.
Keep up the good work.
I wish you and your company the success I believe you deserve.
Cheers
Tom Banks
August 19th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Even more free parts, keep them coming and I can build a kart for the wife, save swopping her.
August 19th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Let me know when new wheels are available as my Gokart is struggling on my Scottish Highlands hilly course during this very wet summer. Hate to think what it will be like when we start getting frosts and snow!!
August 19th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
please let me know when available.
thanks, GORDON.
August 19th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
They look ideal for my local course, especially when the grass is wet and greasy. and inclines are all to abundant.
Nige
August 19th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
AsI have only just got my buggy can I please have the new wheels as soon as possible
August 19th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Great idea, you should see the hills on my local course, real mountain goat stuff but the motor copes with it all and would do better with a bit more grip.
August 19th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
This is a very welcome development as playing in hilly and usually “damp” Scotland frequently presents grip problems.
August 19th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
great wheels ,look forward to getting them , will definitely stop wheelspins on slippery slopes also like the new front wheel cover please let me know when they are available
August 19th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
Brilliant idea.
Slipping wheels particularly problematic on wet slopes.
Powerful motor problematic when your mates think it’s a hoot to wind the throttle up to top speed while you are concentrating on a shot and then burst their sides with laughter as you do a wheelie down the course.
Jealousy is a terrible thing:)
August 19th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Great to see – the power is massive and the wheelspin is noticeable on some areas.
I do not have a problem with front wheel build up (the standing water on the course keeps it clean!)
I note that other users have broken the cardholder – add me to the list!
August 19th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
I am absolutely delighted with my new GoKart, it is now a joy to play, as opposed to pulling my old trolley. The new wheels will be a bonus as i have noticed with the rececent damp conditions, the grip has not been a100%. I have now used it five times and the interest has phenomenal
August 19th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Like the new wheels. Just as well you will be providing them FOC to existing owners – as I only received my spanking new GoKart today!
Fantastic deliver service. Can’t wait ’till Sunday to try out on the course. Wife thinks I’m a loony trying it out on the driveway.
Regards
PKP
August 19th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
The only major problem we have experienced is that when the trolley is used on hardcore paths the vibration is high and becomes uncomfortable to push. This will help with vibration and will stop the spinning, please let me know when available.
August 19th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Hi,
Having recently purchased my golf kart I must say “I’m well chuffed” but frequently play a course around Reigate which is “very hilly” and would welcome the new wheels with open arms, as this would stop my burn outs, heading up to the 2nd tee.
Please keep me posted.
Many thanks,
Phil.

Re: Wheelspin
Hi just to let you know, I do not have problem with wheelspin on my regular course but find that I do have this problem when playing some of the more hillier courses that I visit in the north wales area. Please would send information when your new gripper wheel is available.
With thanks
August 19th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
they look great and the abswer to a problem I have with the wheels slipping/crabbing on a some of the holes on my course where I’m going up or downhill
August 19th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
At last a manufacturer that listens to feedback, well done to the design team. I’ve had my go Kart for a couple of weeks and it does what it says on the tin, the only problem was a bit of wheelspin going up hill at my course up steep hills but overall a great purchase.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
Good news. Let me know or just send please.
Regards
Bill
August 19th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
I am interested as our cournse is quite hilly so a better grip is a serious improvement.
Thanks,
Robert
August 19th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Alan,
We haven’t allowed for a badge to be fitted to the wheel centre – it currently has the three circles of our logo moulded in, so there isn’t a flat surface on which to stick it. You could get your Humbrol model paints out, and send us a photo…?
August 19th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
These wheels look cool ,it will be good not having to do wheelies in the club car park any more I thought I was the second Evil Kanevil. Can you have colour coded badges for the centers?
August 19th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Great idea for the winter.
August 19th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
I play at Aldwickbury G C which is very hilly and do experience wheel spin on some of the holes and if you are mad enough to believe me, stick a pair if wheels in the post to me when they are available.
I do promote your kart at every oppurtunity to my fellow golfers!!!
Any more grovelling and I might pass out.
Frederick
August 19th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Can’t wait,on my course Pitlochry I am getting more wheelspin after rain than a F1 car on slicks
August 19th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
Hi , Im Mark lewis and I recently bought a Go Cart from yourselves. The 3 times that i have used it, I have noticed that my wheels have been spinning and agree that the introduction of the new wheels would enhance my Go cart.
August 19th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
hi,
just this month, I purchased 2 go karts..one for my wife (green) and one for myself (red)..we love them but do find there’s a bit of wheelspin on the hilly courses here in Scotland…. this grippy wheel looks just the perfect solution.
James.
August 19th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
I’m having a few wheel spin problems when our course is wet so would appreciate the provision of the new wheel treads. By the way the modified front wheel cover works beautifully. No problems since it was fitted.
August 19th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Hi Guys Grippy rive wheels sounds like a great idea for wet slippery grass , I’ve been pushing mine up them put me down for a pair please.
August 19th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
the wheels are a really good idea on a number of rounds my gokart has struggled round my course with traction. so count me in
August 19th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Please may I have a pair as soon as they are available, fed up with the Skids !
August 19th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Please let me know when these are available as I do have the wheel spin problem.
Regards
Tony Edwards
August 19th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
I should be grateful to receive the new grippier wheels and the non-clagging (?) front wheel. Why not go the whole hog and get a new sticker for my red trolley? Happy with my coloured battery though.
Regards
Geoff Cackett
August 19th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Would love a set of grippier wheels when available as its been a pretty soggy summer down here in Wales-also looking forward to the umbrella holder coming on stream-get it haha ! Its a sad life I lead !
August 19th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Yes please for grippier wheels when they become available. My better half is chuffed pink (Blue version actually) with her “Wedding Anniversary GOKart!
August 19th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Jos,
It certainly does
August 19th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Dear GoKart,
As one of the first i bought the Gokart some months ago in Holland and i am very, very happy with it. Play once or twice a week 18 holes and have not experienced any problem whatsoever. About the new wheels: as we play in the Ardennes (hills and steep slopes) from time to time the new design may be very usefull.
Does your offer stand for overseas owners too?
Awaiting your news i remain with kindest regards
August 19th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
New wheels seems like a good idea as I think that if there is weak point on the cart it is the wheels, especially the small front one!!!
August 19th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
please let me know when grippier wheels are available
August 19th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Mike,
Our wheel won’t be a replacement for Hedgehogs. If your club insists on these in the winter, you’ll still need to fit them, or carry I’m afraid. You can fit Hedgehogs to the GoKart wheels though
August 19th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
looks good will it be good enough for the winter like the hedge hog type that are used?
August 19th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Fantastic Idea. Played some hilly but wet courses and lots of power in the motor causing too much wheel spin.
The wheels look the business.
August 19th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Dave,
We’re hoping to have the brolly holder ready for later this year, but can’t give a date at the moment. I shall tell our tool makers to get a move on because our customers are turning into Diddy Men
August 19th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Put me down for a pair of ‘gripping’ wheels please.
How is the new brolley holder coming on? The one I modified and attached to my Kart works well but is a little low so I end up like the ‘Hunch-back of Notty Ash’.
Regards
Dave
August 19th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
BRING IT ON
August 19th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
These new wheels look fantastic!!! they would definatly help me at my course, vefy hilly on the back 9!!
Count me in for a set when they are ready!!!!
August 19th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
The new tyres look very useful Please let us know when they are available.
Joyce and Tony
August 19th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Neat idea, but what about making hedgehog wheels for those of us that have to use them during the winter months, or will the new wheels be considered as hedgehogs?
August 19th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
excellent idea! we often have spinning wheels in sand, and in rough areas (yes I sometimes miss the fairway). I am looking forward to these tank wheels.
August 19th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
I find I have exactly this problem on my golf course, on some of the steep fairways with a little bit of wet the wheels tend to spin.We also have a couple of wooden bridges covered with fine mesh to get from one hole to another the wheels spin on here as well.Other than this I am very satisfied with my trolley and glad I decided to buy it.
(ps) I would like red badge for my trolley.
Many Thanks P W Greer
August 19th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Guys!
The Wheels have always slipped when there has been a bit of moisture on the ground, especially when going up any gradient. In my view it was the only apparent design weakness when I first got a Kart.
Regards and thanks
Neil.
August 19th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Cary,
Certainly
August 19th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
AS I HAVE THE SMOOTH WHEELS WILL I GET THE NEW WHEELS FREE ??
August 19th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Steve,
We will be able to offer both wheels. Although we don’t anticipate the new tread causing a huge problem – spinning the wheels up will still clean off the majority of the grass and mud – we’re not talking Land Rover, jungle crossing style here.
August 19th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
I like the old wheels. You can spin them with the motor running to get the crap off them before you leave the course on the 18th and pack the cart away on the boot. The new wheels look like they would hold lots of dirt in them. And all over you when you pack away ?? What about offering them as an option – either or ?
Just a thought…….
Steve……….
August 19th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Noticed on Saturday at my club (after all the rain) I wa experiencing wheel spin on a couple of our holes. now I know what Carlos Saintz feels like when driving in the Icelandic rally in the middle of winter
August 19th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
New wheels look better and hopefully will perform better than the smooth version that are currently fitted to my trolley. I have been experiencing quite a bit of wheel spin, especially when maneouvring my trolley over a lip from a gravel path to the grass. The front wheel & guard do tend to catch and collect the loose shail on the paths at my golf club, especially in the wet. Would like to change the wheels & front guard when they become available.
August 19th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
The wheelspin problem is rather quite annoying, therefore, I am glad you guys are working to resolve this issue. I must say that I have found your service and customer relationship extremely delightful and it is very refreshing to see a company actually caring about the product that they are selling. Keep up the good work and I will be recommending you to a number of people. I just hope you don’t lose your personal touch. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Hemant Patel
August 19th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Paul,
We don’t supply Hedgehog wheel covers, but you can fit them to the GoKart. You can buy them here. Also have a look at this.
August 19th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Terry,
We don’t have a firm date at the moment. The new wheels will fit all GoKarts, and we’ll send you a pair free of charge if you’ve already bought a trolley.
August 19th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Great idea, will certainly help on hillier courses, but I have another question – as winter never really went away, it won’t be long before I need hedgehogs again! Can you do a set of hedgehog wheels? This would avoid cable ties slipping etc?
August 19th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
My wife purchased her go kart year ago and its just great…
Except the wheel spin in wet /Icy coditions we would like to know if you have any dates for the impovements ie front wheel & tyres
As I would like to purchase a Kart myself
August 19th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Colin,
The wheel and tyre is one unit and neither can be replaced individually. When the revised wheel is available. We’ll let you know
August 19th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Can existing wheels be reshod with tyres or are they a single unit?
