You’re 17, under par is fairly ordinary, the world is your oyster and you’re at a school that takes golf SERIOUSLY.

Meet another up and coming player we’re watching. Super lad, uses a GoKart, comes from just up the road in Kent but is at The Lorretto School in Edinburgh, (school? you play golf all the time from what we hear!) is in the midst of A levels and still cranking out the birdies and leading the school Order of Merit. Destined for greatness we reckon. Hey Nike, we found him first! Keep working hard Adam, you’re doing brill – and remember the A levels.

Just to explain, hedgehogs are being tested on this trolley, and feedback from the owner may be useful to other GoKartees:

“New wheels arrived – thank you very much – and so did the Hedgehog tyres.
The tyres are a VERY tight fit over the GoKart wheels, but I worked out that a “smear” of neat Fairy Liquid round the insides of the tyres made them much easier to push on. You were quite correct. The clips supplied with the Hedgehog tyres are worse than useless on your wheels – so they went in the bin.
You need 10 X cable ties about 240mm long to secure the tyres to your wheels, and I discovered that Maplin sell a pack of 20 silver cable ties which are plenty long enough and look very smart(ish). They are £2.50 a pack, and are designed for securing wheel trims on cars – but do the job a treat.
To be honest, the tyres fit on the wheels so tightly I think they would probably stay on without clips or ties, but better safe than sorry.
I have now had two rounds with the new “boots” fitted and they are FANTASTIC. There is absolutely no loss of traction, or “side-slip” on wet hills – they just frolic up anything. The cart actually feels to run over the ground more smoothly than it does on the standard wheels – maybe the rubber “prongs” act like sort of suspension springs. Anyway, so far there is no problem whatsoever – there seems to be no strain on the motor, and lots of people have commented how good they are.”

We have a conspiracy theory. If you join a line between particularly good golf courses and the places where the Earthquake hit, you’ll find that it was golf induced.

Just think about it. Near us, Deal was affected (Royal St.Georges, Cinque Ports, Princes…) Licolnshire (Woodhall Spa, Torksey) Up as far as Aberdeen (Blairgowrie, Cruden Bay – too many good ones to mention!!!), Wales (Porthcawl, St.Davids).

Draw a line between the affected sites and you’ll find that the energetic cause (in our humble opinion) was the slow and painful wait for the season to start. The resulting frustration simply manifested itself into a cosmic shift.

We would advise carpet putting, club polishing and trolley buying to fend off future rumblings.
