Martin Vousden’s guide to 2013.

Dec 23 2013

It’s that time of year again when everyone hands out bouquets and brickbats, and we’re no exception.

Storm in a Teacup of the Year:
Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia
At the Players’ Championship, Tiger pulled a club out of his bag, causing spectators to cheer while Sergio was on his backswing. The sniping continued for several days. They don’t like each other; can we move on?
Runner-up: Mark Steinberg
Tiger Woods’ agent threatened to sue Brandel Chamblee for implying that Tiger was a cheat. He didn’t sue, of course.

Bizarre Name(s) of the Year:
Brandel Chamblee
But it doesn’t end there. He has three children, who he has called Brandel Jr, Brennen and Bergen. Are they even names?

Good News of the Year:
The Professional Golfers Association of America. It has announced that it is considering taking the US PGA Championship, the year’s fourth major, outside the USA. They are to be applauded.

Major of the Year:
The Open
Adam Scott at the Masters was redemption personified; Jason Dufner was never really threatened at the US PGA; Justin Rose was superb in the US Open but it was the Open Championship that really delivered. Phil Mickelson’s win was as dramatic as it was heart-warming.

Player of the Year:
Henrik Stenson
Tiger won four times but in the last six months the Swede has been peerless. And he’s a much better advertisement for the game of golf than Tiger could ever be.

Grateful Caddy of the Year: (more…)

Desks are now littered with very small golf balls.  We’ve got the launch angle pretty much spot on for the green, but that left hand trap keeps coming into play.

Can I get it in time for Christmas?

Dec 16 2013

We’re getting asked this a lot at the moment. We’ll be sending out orders for GoKarts and accessories right up until 23rd December, with delivery to your door possible on Christmas Eve to most mainland UK addresses.

But please get your order in as soon as possible. Our delivery company are stretched to the limit at the moment, and if there’s any delay it’ll mean a late present giving ceremony on the 27th December (the next delivery day).

We currently have most items in stock, and can despatch as soon as we get your order.

Buy them a voucher for a new battery, or accessories or even a trolley (you name the value) and we’ll print the voucher and post it to you, or email if it’s tight for time. You can either specify the item the voucher is for, or an amount that they can spend; you can choose. Couldn’t be much easier. You can’t order these on the website but phone us Monday to Friday 9 – 5 (we pack up on Monday 23rd at 3pm) and we can take your instructions over the phone.  0122 712288. Sorted, painless and no High Street scrum involved.
