The transit bags are on us!

Nov 15 2008

We’ve come over all festive again. Since the beginning of November anybody ordering a GoKart has been pleasantly surprised with a free transit bag. Our sturdy, practical carry bag is the perfect way of preserving your pristine car boot. What’s more it looks rather good. A sort of a golfing fashion statement without the designer price tag. Well without any price tag at all until the end of the year!

When you order, there’s no need to mention (or pay for) the bag. It’ll be nestling in the corner of the box when you unpack your GoKart.

(offer ends 31/12/08)

Christmas Orders Part 2

Nov 14 2008

Lots of customers ask us what happens if the GoKart is bought as a prezzie? When does the warranty start? What if it’s the wrong colour? Or, heaven forbid, can it be returned if hubby doesn’t want it. What about the 28 day money assurance? How’s that going to work?  So we thought a few answers might be useful… (more…)

Christmas Orders Part 1

Nov 13 2008

A note of caution if you’re intending to order a GoKart for a surprise Christmas prezzie…

We really put our foot in it recently. We emailed the intended recipient, giving the game away over what was going into their Christmas stocking.  Completely our fault, as we didn’t notice the email address was different to the one we had from a previous order from the same person.

We take as much care as possible, but please help us avoid making mistakes by either entering in the special instructions  that it’s a present (if ordering online), or tipping us off on the ‘phone if you prefer to order the old fashioned way.

GoKart Electric Golf Trolley Box

Our name is mud at the moment in Mrs X’s house, and we feel rotten about it. We’re trying to think of an appropriate way to make it up to them. In any case, we really don’t want to put any more customers (or ourselves) through this again, so do please let us know if your order is a present.

Knobbly wheels we were talking about…

Nov 12 2008

With these current slip-slidy conditions a lot of customers have been asking about the textured wheels we’ve been planning. We were hoping that they would have been ready by now but the likelihood is that we’re looking at another four soggy weeks. But, to whet your appetite (sorry) here’s a pic to prove that we’re not fibbing.

click thumbnails to enlarge

They’re performing extremely well in testing (important), seem to be rather kind to the golf course (very important) and look rather dashing (less important but still very important). More news when they’re ready to send out.

The ones in the pic are black, which is a special order for James Bond (”Parsh me my wedge Mish Moneypenny”) (yes ok that is a fib, but Daniel Craig is a GoKarteer). The production version for us normal mortals will be a light grey same as the current wheel.

Postage and Packing

Nov 10 2008

Now it’s out of character for us not to be upbeat, but this is something that’s a bit more serious. From next week we’re going to be charging for post and packing.

Up until now we’ve absorbed the cost within the GoKart price. When we launched we wanted to keep the price tag as low as possible. We still do, but transport costs have risen steadily, and the cost of good quality, heavy duty, recyclable corrugated cardboard is scarily high now. In short, from Monday 17th November we’ll be charging £15 for packaging and standard weekday delivery. Options like before 12/10 or Saturdays will be an extra £4/£8/£10 respectively.

But of course if you’re in the neighbourhood (Canterbury is quite a destination for shopping these days, lovely town centre – and you know how highly we rate the courses around here if you fancy a Kentish days golf) you can always come in and collect from the showroom. We’re open from Monday to Friday, 9 till 5.  Best to phone first to check we have the colour you want though.

GoKart is Magic Brand of 2008

Nov 01 2008

The website Golfmagic.com (the liveliest online golf forum in the UK) recently held their annual awards. When we were nominated for ‘Best Brand’, up against some of the big boys (Nike, Callaway, Taylormade etc), we were delighted to bits. Then we heard we’d won and our delightedness reached another level. Bourbon biscuits were purchased. (more…)
